My wife is in "the family way". O, boy, is she EVER!
Just found out that the baby she is carrying inside her is more than one: it's not a baby, but BABIES. Three of them. Triplets! AND they are boys! ALL of them!
So Mina and myself (Patrick) are going to be the parents of triplet boys in four months!! Time to get more baby clothes and a bigger crib (not to mention, more in the way of baby toys, diapers, and other baby-related supplies)!
I don't know how we are giong to break the news to our 2 1/2 year old daughter, Nella Celeste. She already knows that Mommy is going to have a baby and that she is going to be a big sister, but I don't know how she is going to handle the fact that she is going to be the big sister to not one, not two, but THREE little brothers!
Mina and I are both walking around in a daze. We have such a wide variety of emotions going on about now: fear. Joy. Excitement. Disbelief. Uncertainty. Confusion. Yet the joy overrides everything else; we are tickled pink that we are going to have three little boys in four months!
Four short months! That's 16 weeks. Our boys will be arriving sometime in October. An early Christmas present, perhaps? Maybe ... that, or an early Thanksgiving present. Maybe they will arrive earlier than that: seems that mulitple babies (be it twins, TRIPLETS, or more than that) usually arrive ahead of their scheduled time. So premature delivery may be a distinct possibility.
Mina and I are going to have to do everything possible to ensure a safe, easy, uneventful delivery for our BOYS; even if they DO arrive sooner than expected, we will have to pray with all our hearts to make sure that they will be okay. We are also going to have to consult the baby name book and try to come up with three boys' names that will suit our sons to be.
We will probably tell Nella tonight about her brothers. She is hoping for a little sister; I know she will be disappointed, but kid, you're gonna have to face the music and get over it. I know that in time she will love them as we will once they arrive.
Well, it's timie that Mina and I get ready for church; we will also tell the pastor and the congregation the news. Exciting times are ahead for us; just pray that the rest of Mina's pregnancy goes without incident and that the boys are delivered safely without too many problems! We would both greatly aprpeciate it; thanks in advance!
Our story is not over, not by a long shot! You haven't heard the last from us, Patrick and Mina Heron!
