I have a special little feline friend in Paprika. Paprika is a eight week old Maine Coon kitten; I got her as a birthday present from my parents. She's the best thing that could have ever happened to me.
Like most kittens, Paprika loves to play and romp around: nothing escapes her curious paws or her keen vision. When she isn't playing or making me laugh, she sleeps or eats (or poops and pees). She is absolutely adorable; I just love her so much!
Paprika is a mix of different colors: red, black, tan, orange, even some grey thrown in for good measure; but she has white on her face, chest, and all four paws. She is what one would call a "tortoiseshell with white" patterned Maine Coon. She has big, grey-green eyes and extremely long whiskers, as well as a very long, bushy tail. She is gonna be stunning when she grows up (if she isn't already that now).
Don't ask me why I named my kitten Paprika. I just did, and it seems that the name suits her perfectly because she has more red on her than anything else.
I love taking care of my new kitten. She is very easy to take care of, but at the same token, she needs a lot of supervision. When I am not home, my parents (mainly my mom) watches Paprika. I won't let my little kid brother Tyler touch her; he is only four years old and he really doesn't understand that kittens need to be handled gently. The last time he tried to pick her up, Paprika scratched his arm pretty badly; now he won't touch her or go near her except to scream "BAD KITTY!" at her.
I wish I could take my kitten outside to show my friends, but Mom and Dad both say she is too little and she might run off or get chased by a dog; it's better to keep her inside. I can understand their reasoning, but still, I would like to show my new kitten to my friends!
Well, I'm gonna play with my pet, so I will go for now. I hope you enjoyed my story about her. I just love her to pieces!!
