Maybe I should have opted to stay home and watch the fireworks on tv.
I wouldn't be in the predicament I'm currently facing.
I am in the tangled wreckage that was once my car and I wait for help. I was watching the fireworks and all of a sudden, without any warning whatsoever, something (or someone) hit me and now I lie, injured and bleeding, and typing this down.
I am sure my wife is worried. I had gone to the store to get some ice cream; I am sure it's melted by now inside my trunk. I was on the way home from there, but then I saw the fireworks, and I decided to stay and watch them for a little before continuing my journey towards the house.
Now I am here, wondering if anybody will come to my aid. I am sure someone must have called 9-1-1 and reported the accident. It shouldn't be long before I hear the sound of sirens and then worried, yet concerned voices asking if there is anybody injured or caught in the wreckage.
Until then, I wait. I am in a lot of pain, and I taste the bitter flavor of blood, which tastes like metal. It makes me nauseated. I wonder if I have broken any bones. I do know this much: my arms aren't injured because I can move 'em without any pain. And I know I didn't break any bones in 'em or else I wouldn't be putting this down on my iPhone.
I don't know what's going to happen, but I pray to God that someone has called for emergency aid or at least called my wife, to tell her that I have been in a wreck and am going to be rather late.
