Hola! Como esta  usted?

My name is Desmerelda Maria Antonia Teresita Delgado Ortiz.  I was born in Mexico, near Mexico City, but I emigrated here, to the United States of America, two years ago.  I came here to have a better life.

I am currently unable to speak but a little English.  I am taking classes at one of the local high school, but English is very difficult for me.  So many rules and regulations!  Ai yi yi, I hate it!  UGH!

I came here so I could join my husband, Rodgrigo, and our two children, Pepito (12) and Esperanza Joy (4); they came here last year.  I would have joined them, but I had to get a "green card", which would mean that I could live or work here in America legally.  Now that I have gotten my green card, I am here.

Right now we live here in Del Rio, Texas.  I have settled in fairly well; it helps that many people speak Spanish, so if I need something, they can help me or at least translate into English for me.  That is a very big plus.  We may move to Nashville, Tennessee, if my husband's job offer goes through; right now we're in the process of waiting and hoping.

I pray every day that Rodgrigo's job transfer goes through.  I hear Nashville, Tennessee, is very good, and that the people there are very friendly.  If he gets the job offer, it will mean much more in the way of money for us and we won't have to struggle so hard in order to make it.  

I currently clean houses a few days a week to give me some spending money for me and the children; Rodrigo works at a factory.  General Motors, I think is the name of the factory; anyway, he makes parts for automobiles and makes excellent money.  He also speaks English, way better than I ever could.  The children, they speak both English and Spanish.

I don't know what is going to happen to us in the future, but one thing is for certain: I plan on improving on my English and hope that we can move north; I am tired of Texas already!
