This is a true -life adventure of synchronicity awesomely blossoming into Synchrodestiny. We originally began sharing this story in my Article, "Reflections on Synchrodestiny."
Synchrodestiny is Deepak Chopra's term for the transformational momentum process that unfolds when "coincidences" are acknowledged as synchronistic, and synchronicities, in turn, grow to life-changing transformation for any and all that is touched by it.
My first exposure to Deepak Chopra's series of audio tapes title, Synchrodestiny has been about seven years ago now. Because the operation of basic life principles put forth in the series made so much sense and resonated with some experiences I'd had, I have been actively practicing building my life's synchronicities into synchrodestiny ever since. I recommend this tape series to anyone interested in pursuing synchrodestiny in experience.
Before I paint the picture of my most recent example, let me describe what is meant by building synchronicities into synchrodestiny. Whenever two unlikely events or conditions happen with remarkable timing it is commonly called a coincidence. When one experiences a co-incident even from the perspective that life does not express anything at random, but rather according to a creative order which allows for continuity of collective experience, then co-incidence evolves into synchronicity. Now, launching into the adventure of building synchrodestiny is about taking this natural progression in consciousness from coincidence to synchronicity one step farther; when a synchronicity occurs, take the time to acknowledge it with enthusiasm and interest. Begin to entertain questions like, "What will happen next? What does this have to show me?" It may sound silly at first, but soon what was occassional co-incidence can become almost daily synchronicity that can be anticipated in a spirit of cooperation with Life. As this process accumulates and is shared with others the combined synchronis experiences and consciousness can lead to transformational synchrodestiny for everyone that a series of events touches.
Here is the example from my own recent experience: Practicing sychrodestiny over the years, significant dates such as birthdays and anniversaries have come to be key in timing of unfolding synchronicity. This example is rich with layers of effect, and has expaned to encompass effecting a great many people.
It all started with my husband, Vernon's, job with Six Flags Theme Parks. And, with my desire to transform my relationship to abundance out of working 9 to 5, and into my passion as a Practitioner of Religious Science. I had been in sacred practices and prayer for two years, asking for the open door to the change. In the Spring, 2005, I had spent a fabulous day working my passion. I declared to God, "This is it!" This is what I choose to do with my life." Immediately I got the unexpected flash in my mind, "Will you trust, no matter what it looks like?" "Yes!"
Lo and behold! That October, Six Flags sold the park he worked for in Houston, Texas, and leveled the land, bringing Vernon's career journey, as he knew it, to a whole new level in more ways then one.
We prayed without ceasing and waited carefully to see what was coming. Next, I participated in a Sweat Lodge on December 12, 2005. For those of you who may not be familiar with a Sweat Lodge, it is a particular Native American Spiritual practice of prayer, individually and in a group. As it happened this was the eve of the anniversary of my mother's death nine years before. Mom actually died at , Friday, December 13, 1996. Just realizing that I would be in ceremonious prayer over the time she was in transition from life into death I knew would be very powerful. In my experience this was a spontaneous arrangement, not chosen by me. The date and time were set by the keepers of the lodge, who were unaware of my mother's journey.
With this on my mind all that day, the day of the 12th, I prayed and meditated, with no particular preconceived idea--just for guidance in what was to come. Because part of building synchrodestiny is about making significant people aware when synchronicities are in motion, I had told my husband Vernon about the dates synchronicity so that he was tracking it as well, in his experience.
While I was in the sweat lodge, Vernon was in our home-office on the computer and discovered that a piece of writing I had submitted for publication to an E-zine had been published that day. Then, in the very same two-hour time frame, Vernon got onto a conference call with a business-building support group, and won Complimentary Registration for two to attend a 3 Day Workshop with one of his mentors, John Di Lemme. He had to call in three separate times without giving up on the chance--this package worth an estimated $2,000.00. Were we tickled??? We were tickled, and feeling sooo blessed!!!
THEN, as the date for the gifted workshop approached, Vernon was offered an interview for a significant promotion with his Six Flags in Louisville, Kentucky--into the area he'd been aiming for. The interview was scheduled for the first day of the workshop. Vernon called the custodians of the tickets to discuss our double-blessing. The unique nature of the content of the workshop prohibited us from changing the dates to attend. It was too much of a shame to see the tickets go to waste, so the administration found another couple who could use the tickets last minute. A few days later, on the appointed day when Vernon was offered the position on the first interview, we realized his energetic investment and perseverence in trying for what he wanted getting the tickets opened the door energetically to this career step of a lifetime.
In December of 2009, Vernon was inspired by an internal wake-up call to begin investing in his personal growth and well-being. He scheduled to attend his first workshop with John Di Lemme, for January of 2010, having set the connection aside since we gave the workshop we'd won, away.
Now, Vernon has gratefully worked with Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom for the last four years. In mid-February, 2010, all of the employees were advised the park would be closed. Where had he felt this before? Once, again, very suddenly it appeared his last day as Six Flags management was upon him. Well, that day is the day his first workshop with his mentor, John Di Lemme, was to begin. The odds of this timing would be nearly impossible to calculate. And now . . . there's more!
When Vernon got home from the workshop weekend, Six Flags had decided they needed a team to complete the logistical shutting down of the park. Blessings upon us, Vernon was offered the opportunity on a restructured employment agreement. So, he has been working that, taking the opportunity to develop the legs on which the next phase of his life's dream will run.
Now, here comes the next piece of this multi-layered, as yet unfolding synchrodestiny. My husband and I are confirmed cruisers.
Taking a cruise is, by far, our preferred way to "get away from it all."
Right about the time Vernon found out his career was moving through a new "dark night" phase, John Di Lemme announced a cruise for the group Vernon mentors with. Well, of course, we looked at it; we toyed with the idea, but, "No." It did not feel wise for the two of us to consider the investment it would take with our future approaching the vast horizon of unknown. Then, just as the extent of Vernon's agreement to work shutting down the park is glimpsing the end of the tunnel, the cruise coordinator calls Vernon, extending a personal invitation to join them; "We have One Spot left on the cruise, and we are hoping you will join us." Well, Vernon pondered, what in the world am I to do with this?
He felt elated at such an invitation, yet potentially "sunk," all in that one incredible moment. How could he tell me that not only did he want to go on the cruise, now, but he would be going without me? Did he even want to suggest it? Oh dear; oh dear--everyone should have such problems. Imagining actually being on that ship in the midst of, and seemingly as a consequence of all that was going on for him was almost more than he could accept. But not quite; as it turned out, he did find the courage to tell me that, qualitatively, the clouds had opened up and God said, "Vernon, get on that ship! Embrace for yourself this prime Vision Quest and adventure!"
So, today, April 30, 2010, Vernon is at the airport right now, boarding a flight to Florida, to be with John Di Lemme, once again, at this amazing juncture in Vernon's journey. The Ship, Carnival's "Dream," sets sail tomorrow. As Synchrodestiny would have it, this weekend "just happens" to be Derby weekend. Today, Friday, the fillies will run the Oaks race; Sunday is the Kentucky Derby. Vernon called me just now from the Airport saying, "Honey, it's absolutely amazing: I'm on the opposite side of the terminal from where we normally board flights, and there are beautiful private jets parked out in front of me like a VIP parking lot!" He counted 30 private jets in his line of sight on the spot. Wow! What we know to be true is if we can see it, touch it, taste it--if we can Feel a quality, it Is Within Us. All we have to do is recognize it as already ours because Spirit meets us where we show up. You can believe we can't wait to see what's coming next!
