The World is a Dream takes the reader on a journey through the mind of one teenager and his relationship with his mother. A look at characters who they themselves don't know the answers to solving their problems. It's a short story about faith, but at the same time inspirational and as haunting as reality itself.

It was noon when Carlos was told to take a walk back and forth down the hall. As usual, he wanted to be alone and the nurse noticed he was not dizzy, so he allowed him to walk down the hall. He walked back and forth for about five minutes without seeing anyone in the halls.

“Did you see her,” said a small voice.

Carlos paused for a minute, thinking he was imagining something.  He stopped and listened, thinking he was just tired.

“Did you see her,” said the voice again.  “I saw her too.”

Carlos managed to turn around with the wire cart and stopped. A small boy, about seven years old stood beside him.  He had dark spiky hair, light blue eyes, and a pale skin color. He wore a light green hospital robe.

            “What do you mean?”

“She came to me too,” said the boy.  “The messenger came to me too.”

“What do you mean,” Carlos asked once more.

“I know she came to you.” “Don’t be afraid.”
