The Faery's Silly Song
by Wilfried F. Voss
Rocking horse and silly goose,
Tiddly winks in apple juice,
Chinese yo-yo, ladybugs,
Give your teddy many hugs,
Sing a faery’s silly song, forget the weeping
The world makes sense when you are sleeping.
Nose flute and some potty putter,
Jingling bells and peanut butter,
Doo doo darts and jester Jack,
Water ping pong, bubble pack,
Sing a faery’s silly song, little girls and boys,
Take pleasure in childhood’s many joys.
Painted wings, childhood’s great defender,
And giants’ rings are such great splendor.
Keep these treasures, don’t grow old
In a world of tears and full of cold.
Butterfly garden, jumping ropes,
Spinning top, kaleidoscopes,
Finger football, tin kazoo,
Wet pants, soaked through and through,
Sing a faery’s silly song, keep an open heart,
Do not let a cruel world tear it apart.
