What God has joined together....can anything put asunder?
Frank and Jane had been living in peace and joy since they got married. Very early in the morning, Frank being a good cook would get into the kitchen and prepare breakfast for the family while Jane prepared the kids for school. Even neighbors complimented the great height of love existing in their family. It continued this way till the unseen enemy - the devil, crept in.
Frank, being a guidance counselor always had more of female clients come for counseling. Jealousy and lack of trust grew in the heart of Jane as she suspected her husband to be sleeping around with her female clients. Frank being innocent kept on trying to explain things to her but she won’t stop nagging.
This really infuriated Frank and led to his sometimes sleeping away from home. Now, their kids who were always cheerful began to keep moody faces. They felt the enmity going on between their parents. This ended up in Jane divorcing her husband, taking their female child and leaving the male for the husband.
It happened that one day as Jane went into her library to read, there on the wall, she saw her two painted portraits (where she wore Santa Claus costume), given to her as Christmas gifts by Frank last Christmas. She couldn’t stop crying as she continuously gazed at the portraits. Tears flowed freely from her eyes as she remembered the promise of having an everlasting love they both agreed to when he gave her the portraits.
Uncontrollably, she entered her car with her daughter and drove straight to Frank’s house only to see Frank sitting, crying on the sofa. With tear-filled eyes and compassion, she hugged Frank and asked, “Why are you crying honey?” Frank pulling out a diamond wristwatch showed it to Jane and said, “You remember this, dear? It was the gift you gave me last Christmas. I opened my wardrobe some minutes ago and saw it. I quickly remembered the promise I made to you when I said, ‘I will always do everything to see you happy’. Now, I think I have failed to my promise and as a husband too. I am sorry.”
“Oh no honey, I am the one who’s at fault. I caused it all. I am sorry too honey,” Jane said, not holding back her tears now.
They both kissed each other crying profusely, after which they knelt down together, their kids inclusive, and prayed.
