Regis, I found this story to be beautiful, in an eerie way. All seemed to be so dreamlike and the love he felt to be verging on madness when all along what the man wanted was what we all, at least as a man I know what I want: To be held, to be physically held within the arms of a woman who's love is fully reciprocal. But what your man wants is the love of his mother that is now transfixed into and for the love of this beautiful woman that lays alongside him. And her sigh, the sigh could mean, "here he goes again!" The sigh could mean, "Why won't he just leave me alone." But, of course the sigh may be out of her, though shown distantly, fully reciprocal love.

| Yes, this story is deep-set. It cuts through to the source, to the core. There may be a lot of relationships formed by such patterns. Often, there's no solution, as feelings have become solid stone and form a wall that seems impenetrable. Like the structures of society itself, it takes the impact of a primeval catastrophe to move them. |

| The style was very readible, fluid, verging on prose. The atmosphere surreal, enhancing the exposition. I thought this a beautiful and well-crafted character study, but I'm not sure it qualifies as a story--which is defined by conflict and tresolution. There's conflict of an internal nature, man vs. self type, but no resolution...therefore no ending. On the other hand, that makes it perhaps a truer mirror of the world than otherwise. Life is often frustrating, lacking in resolution. For this to work to complete it's journey, it seems to me you either need to have his wife learn how to unbend a little, accepting his need of her, or you need to have your main character complete an arc and find the confidence/strength/wisdom not to demand what won't be given. |

Reg,
In our world, this piece is what we call maya, in other words, FANTASY that you integrated with reality, which is what we call art. I am a follower of Jung and this is the perfect example of his dream imagery and the philosopher's stone, turning base metals into gold, an equivalent of the psych of humans and transference of the mind. WHAT A NUGGET YOU HAVE HERE, Reg. Cash it in!!! Great art is at the same time an illusion. Embrace this 'Sigh' as you want to be embraced, Reg. Great write brother of mine. Regis the human mind can play so m any tricks on us. But, women have that beat by a heatbeat tho. We can be so cruel at times, without meaning it. Sometimes, when a man says he loves us, we just sigh that great big sigh of relief, which sometimes is taken to mean something else. After we are fully conscious and wide awake, what happened during the night, like in this story, seems so much like a dream, that at the time, we just don't worry about it. We just go back to sleep, thinking everything is ok. Of course divorces have been granted on less. Thnx for sharing bro, I really appreciated this one. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly.
