This is well told. The action is gripping, continually building to your final revelation in the last two paragraphs. The story does leave me wanting to know much more, such as why these extra terrestrial beings are here and their purpose. They don't sound like beings I would want to mess with, but I am curious what motivates them. Being evil motivates some, but usually it isn't that simple. I guess I am saying this might be a good first chapter to a much longer work, although it can stand alone and still be worthwhile.
Very well written. Compelling and convincing dialogue. Gripping action. You have a good grasp of how to tell a convincing story. |

Regis,
Well done. You have succeeded with this one because in a few short words you draw the reader right in to find out what happened. You were also able to give us a very insightful look into the characters personality. Very difficult to accomplish in such a short story. So much mystery! To add to that, you have drawn the story to an end and not left it dangling. At the same time you have respected the readers intellignece by letting us decide what happened. I always appreciate it when a writer gives his/her reading audience a chance to use their own imagination. So many writers feel a deep need to tell us every detail and in turn that leaves us bored as readers. Sorry this is a bit wordy, but I felt this story deserved a real breakdown on why it's so good. It deserved more than just a 'job well done' comment. By the way, what does happen next????
