Remembering Michael Jackson: A Memoir...

Michael Jackson: dead today; he was only fifty years old. Too, too young! :(

One of my very favorite performers passed away today at the age of fifty.  When paramedics went to his home, they found him unresponsive, not breathing.  They tried to revive him, but to no avail.

Michael Jackson was a true legend in his time.  He was a multi-platinum, dynamic entertainer who entertained millions with his unbelievable dancing skills and strong vocal talent.

Now a true superstar has been felled.  The world reels in shock as the news travels around the globe.  The world will continue to do so for a very long time to come.

I am still in shock myself, not believing, not wanting TO believe, but knowing that the terrible news is indeed, true .  This has been a very bad week for celebrity deaths:  first, Ed McMahon on Tuesday, dead at the age of 86.  One of my very favorites; a true class act.  Then yesterday, with Farrah Fawcett of "Charlie's Angels" dying of cancer at the age of 62.  And now, today, Michael Jackson, dying at the age of fifty (autopsy report pending as early as tomorrow).  It's crazy!!

May God be with Michael Jackson's family as they cope with this devastating situation at hand.  May God comfort them, give them a sense of peace and comfort as they face the truly difficult hours, days, weeks, months, years ahead!  May God be with his many friends around the globe, and especially to his many legions of fans!

Even though he was much misunderstood and maligned by the press, he will be missed!!  The charges of child indecency hurt Michael deeply; that is not what he wanted to be known for.   I don't think he intentionally wanted to harm a child; he seemed to love them so much because, in his words, "they were innocent".

Whether or not he acted inappropriately is not for us to judge or say.

Michael Jackson, may you rest in peace and know you will be missed.

>tears!!<

Beautiful remembrance for a beautiful soul. It's fantastic the way so many millions of people at this moment are managing to celebrate the anniversary of his birth and not allowing themselves to become disheartened over the sensationalism surrounding his death.

I was shocked and saddened by all 3 deaths this week. I had read an article about Farrah and another man getting some kind of a special cancer treatment in Europe. So far his has been helping him, but hers did't . God takes us all when its our time to go. Ed McMahon and Micheal Jackson were legands! All will be missed1.......M

Very well written. It was as if you'd read my mind. I am still in shock over Michael Jackson's passing. I keep waiting for a bulletin to come across the screen saying it was a hoax or some kind of publicity stunt, but I know that it isn't.

the passing of MJ was a total shock to me... Mr. McMahon was elderly and lived a full life. Ms. Fawcett was relatively young, but the press kept us abreast of her failing health. To the best of my knowledge, the seriousness of Mr. Jackson's illness was not covered extensively. Big gasping shock for me. Hugs Karen. Your friend, Kathy

Michael will never be forgotten. He touched the lives of many. My little nine year old grandson said to me, "I can't believe Michael died."

He will never be forgotten Karen but it is a shame that so many kids today will grow up never knowing him. Thank you for your memoirs of Michael.

Newfie hugs are on the way, Rose

"Whether or not he acted inappropriately is not for us to judge or say." - how true. What the world lost was a fantastic entertainer, one of the best -- he was a Thriller. Too damn young - well done, Karen.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(
