Our family still stuggles with Anna Beth sickness. We would have never let her go out and play with her friends had we known how dangerous it could be. Who would have thought the simple act of playing with her friends could leave little Anna Beth in such poor health. She spent months fighting for her very life.
Anna Beth contracted Polio, and spent months fighting for her life in the hospital, and still she continues to fight. Now she walks with cruthces and heavy metal braces on her legs, but she is here with us, some of her little friends did not survive this illness.
We are in the midst of a depression in our country and yet by the grace of God somehow with the kindess of those who can give a little help, we are getting through this, and Anna Beths sweet spirit is starting to shine through again. I am so glad that it is.
Anna Beth came down with Polio in the Summer of 1929 two years ago, and for awhile we thought we would loose our youngest child. The older two were sent to stay with their grandparents, so they did not get sick, thankfully no one other than Anna Beth, got sick, that was by God's grace alone.
