After 50 years in the biz, I join those whose substantive argument is that thinking out of the box will continue its struggle to reach the big screen. Hunger for what once was artistic collaboration, what once was honor among artistic thieves, seems destined to starve.

Screenplay Pitch

Over Credits

Empty wet ghosttown street

Work lights spotted

Tumble weed shadows

Like vehement crusted webs

Gila monster stares vacant

Fat lady carries midget man to bed

Lions sleep

Elephants sway trunks

Phillip Glass sounds undulate

Horses prick ears

3 legged cat wails

Cat turns into old woman

Tumbleweed shadows chase woman

House trailer bathed in pink light

Fat lady steps in

Crazy mirror makes fat lady thin

Crazier than old

Old woman changes into trapeze bikini

Lion tamer and young old lady kiss

3 legged cat scurries under bed

Lion tamer drops to knees

Pleads his love

Snaps whip

Cat hisses

Distant lightning

Trailer pink turns blue

Thunder rocks trailer

Rain washes trailer away

Old woman

Fat again

Walks in desolate rain

Swirls cotton candy around tongue

3 legged cat jumps in lion cage

Stares at lion

Missing leg scratches ear

Lion growling

Oh so...

Fade out

Fade in

Scene one

Oh yes! Phillip Glass -- either "Knee 1" from Einstein on the Beach or "Dance of the Witches" from The Witches of Venice. This creation splays a smorgasboard of abstraction of deliriously compelling imagination. To write the fingerpainting flight of this fancy is a feat of capture. That you see this in your mind is stunning and beyond profound. I love it. ~~ Diana

I get the picture, and it is grotesque, like that HBO series, “Circus.” I don't think Stephen King has anything on you when it comes to writing movie scenes. I'd love to see this one for real.

Like this come on. Draws you into the visual and sets the creepy tone for what will follow in Scene One. Tried screenwriting, but can't shake my novel temperament. Wanted to move all my novels into screenplays, but found that the novel in me wanted to project it in the screen play almost verbatim. Can't work like that.
