I have mentioned in another blog that Twitter can be used to increase readership here on Author's Den. Below are some sample tweets that worked for me.
A mixture of humor and writing about writing and the world. Yours will of course be different depending up the group you are tweeting for.
Only 140 characters allowed in each tweet.

 Naming tip: #2 Find out what names mean; Mine means "ready warrior" and I am a four in numerology. Do the same for your characters.
 

Name tip: "Don't name your hero character a name which reminds the reader of their childhood abuser." Do some research.

 
9-15-11

 

"It was 'dark as night' is poor writing (smile) he was ""dark as night" is so-so. 'He was dark' is better because it has many levels to it."

i will not say that i understood everything you wrote...or thought, but it brought a smile to my face, then made me think and then allowed me to think about my impact and your impact on this world...and that is the best part about writing...the thinking part~
