My name is Daniel (Danny) Obediah Canfield, but most people call me "Games" (of which I'll get into in a little while). I am 12 years old. I live in Baltimore, Maryland.
My family consists of just my mom and myself. My dad left us when I was three years old, so I really don't remember him much. He does send me a card for my birthday or on Christmas, but any other time, we don't hear from him. Dad was a jerk, according to mom.
Dad was also an alcoholic. He chose the brown bottle over his marriage and his son. I call that selfish.
One of the things that makes me happiest is when I play baseball. I play on a Little League team; our team is called the Rough Riders, and I have made many friends, among them being Keyboard (Robert Keller), Shooter (Rafael Quiinones), Slam (Garrett Gomez), Lightnin' Lil (Lillian Peterson), Ox (Oscar Eubanks), Bull (Brian Jacoby), Knuckles (Kenny Deutcheman, and Pee Wee (Parker Rogers). We range in age from six (Pee Wee) on up to high school age (Bull and Ox).
I hope we have a much better season this year. Last year we sucked, we really sucked. We won maybe three games, tops. We were horrible!! It was so bad I wanted to quit playing baseball and switch over to football!
When I am not playing baseball, I like to hang out with my friends (namely Knuckles, Slam, Keyboard, Shooter, Lightnin' Lil, and Streak), play video games (that's my other big love besides baseball; now you know why I am called "Games"), eating pizza, playing the drums, listening to rock videos and learning the drumming in the songs, and just veggin' out on the weekends (but somehow mom always finds things for me to do, which annoys me!).
I can't wait for spring. I've been cooped up in the house long enough; I'm about to go out of my ever-loving mind!! I hate cold weather, I hate snow, and I wish I lived in a place like California, Florida, or Texas, where it is warm all the year long!
Well, I have to go. We're getting out of school early (early-dismissal; guess the teachers are getting tired of our shtick and fooling around!), and I want to meet some of my pals at the local Dominos pizza joint. I have ten dollars (birthday money) that's burning a hole in my pocket ... and that's not counting the $20.00 I found on the ground while walking to school! Sweet!! :)
I will write in here again; until later, this is "Games" Canfield signing off! Bye!
~"Games". :)
