Hello! Dareen Willis-Oliver here, with my latest update regarding the status of young burn victim, Caden Drew Bollinger, and his family ...
Caden had been doing as good as could be expected, considering the mitigating circumstances; however, yesterday, his heart stopped twice during a relatively minor debridement session, and he had to be revived. Thank God he pulled through, but he's not doing very well, according to those who are providing medical treatment for him. Doctors have put him in a drug-induced coma, so he can recover from his two heart episodes.
Julie and Charlie, his parents, are, as you can imagine, quite devastated. All they do is sit there in the waiting room, crying uncontrollably; my heart absolutely breaks for them!
I wish I had more positive news regarding Caden's situation, but he is going to have bad days as well as the good. Today is such a time. So I continue to offer my prayers to Heaven, and let other churches around the Nashville metro area know of the latest news about Caden. That way, the young boy continues to be covered in prayers.
I feel bad for Ashlynn and Eagan, Caden's younger sister and brother. I know they must miss them terribly, not to mention, their parents. They are staying with their grandparents until Caden's condition improves to where he doesn't need so much in the way of constant care. Right now, that seems to be a very long time off, especially with this latest crisis that's set in.
The teens who did this to the young boy are currently going through their trial. They should be sentenced within weeks; the trial seems to be going smoothly, according to the local newscasts. They are facing possible jail time, possibly as long as ten to twenty years behind bars for attempted murder.
All I can do at the present time is continue my prayer chain for Caden Bollinger and notify people of this latest situation. I don't know when a community has come together like this for a little boy that's in desperate need of a miracle, but it's great to see!
Well, I am going to call the hospital and see if I can get any latest news about Caden and see how he is doing, so I am going to go now. I will write in here within a few days with another update. In the meantime, please continue those prayers for Caden; he really could use a touch from God!! Thank you in advance!
~As always, Dareen Willis-Oliver. :(
