The boy with a phobia to worms continues to deal with his fears, especially on rainy days, where worms are plentiful.

If I see any more worms, it will be too soon.

Today happens to be a day that's perfect for those nasty, slimy critters.  Raining like a bear out there: thundering, lightning -- the whole nine yards.

It's a day for a bowl of hot tomato soup with crackers on the side and staying in my room, where I can concentrate on my video games, watch cartoons on the telly, and stay out of my brothers' way.  They keep threatening to grab some worms and stuff 'em down my shirt.

I say unless they want a pile of shit to clean up, then they'd best not do that if they know what's good for them.  Maybe I ought to shit in their faces; that will learn 'em, as my mom says.

I still have an aversion to worms and/or "all things slimy".  Even snakes bother me somewhat, but nothing, NOTHING like worms.  For some reason, worms absolutely undo me, especially since some bad kids at my school have already thrown worms on me or stuffed 'em down my shirt or pants.  There is no grosser feeling than to have worms wriggling against your skin.  UGH!!

The thought of it is more than enough to make me want to lose my lunch!

I don't know where my brothers are: I don't hear their loud, braying laughter.  That is okay with me.  I just hope they aren't thinking of doing something to get me somehow, especially if it hapepns to involve ... worms.  If they do, then I might have to do something drastic in order to stop them, and I will not be responsible for my actions!

~To be continued.~

Poor kid. Too bad he lets the other kids know of his phobia. It's not like worms are normally a subject for conversation, It's like "don't ask don't tell" As always, Karen a great story with a believable character.

Kids can be SO cruel ... I'd be more worried about NOT hearing my brothers' laughter. Well done, Karen.
