Barren Fallows

White rain was the illusive visions of hardened question;

pelting upon my quiet heart like the acidic poison of decay.

Crawling from the ebony dredge of nightfall’s torrent,

there were the fatal footprints of a doorways unbroken threshold.

Locks of ill thought demise lay strewn upon memories venom calling;

crushed beneath the toxic shades of truth now forever destroyed.

Drowning inside corruptions harried storms of iniquity;

sorrows weight carried the silent voices of hidden truth.

Seeking to know the wasting decadence of sought trespass,

inquiring these unwanted faces buried within harnessed deceit;

I seen revulsions lethal grip of noxious abandons suffrage;

incessantly peering within the harrowing trench of fears misleading voices.

Rising from the haunted gallows of confounding silence,

 my aching soul shouted out loud for deliverance to hear;

“Whom pillages this vile lasso of engraved falsity carried by mendacity?”

“Who is this unspeakable presence of vexations trespassing witness?”

 Do I deceive the core of myself from the reality of a tormentors camouflage;

wearing infuriate pretense behind their duplicitous mask of challenges seed?

Why must I look beneath the perfidious stones of betrayals seditions;

wasted like the barren fallows of a lost soul incessantly searching?

My exhausted spirit walks the planted fields of desolations fated promises;

trying to understand the significance of their badger’s mislaid mask.

 I need to see through the concealed facade of white rains illusive visions;

secreting the cloaked horror of a suppressed child’s unballasted past…

Yet trepidations are hidden gallows, chiseled like secret insufferable scars;

pelting with the insurgence of upheavals revelations;

listening to the many vociferous chambers of a wounded heart’s buried memories;

disquieting me to feel foreboding presence…like the acidic poison of silent decay…

An amazing write, Victoria. I love the image of an exhausted spirit roaming a field in thought. That part feels so urgent, like a fight against time. Love and Hugs,

A world of Dante described here, a world of Dante inside a tortured mind full of questions and describing a landscape which it wanted to walk over and never return again.
A philosophical ├ętude.
