G'day, all! How's it goin'? Hope this finds each and every one of y'all well without any worries to speak of ... we are doin', but Pop, he is still depressed: he just can't seem to get over the passing of his dear, sweet wife (and Charles' and me mum) .... we are most worried about him ...
The weather has been very hot; we've had a hot and stormy summer. I am ready for cooler temps and/or dryer conditions!! They've had bad flooding problems 'round Queensland: weeks and weeks of relentless, pounding rains and wave after wave of thunderstorms ....
Can't believe that in four months, it will be a year since Mum died. She had a heart attack; it was very unexpected. It hit us all like a ton of bricks, especially me: I was extremely close with Mum. She was not even eighty years old when she died. She lived a long, good life, but we didn't expect her to go as fast as she did ... that's what made her passing so hard to bear ...
I'm still living here in Sydney with Pop and me roommate, Alissa. Alissa is a great roomie: she pulls her weight around and helps pay with the bills and shit. Don't have any problems with her exceptin' she's a lesbo. That's her choice; I just don't agree with it is all.
We still have our cat, "Monster", a behemoth of a Maine Coon (male) who weighs nearly 30 pounds, and "Squawky", a red-coloured macaw who's noiser than all get out. He has to make his opinions known and he drives people crazy with his incessent screaming. Don't know why I even got the stupid thing; I hate him at times! I do know this much: "Monster" is terrified of him, even though he's twice the size of the bird!
Later today we may go to the beach; haven't been to the beach in a while. They had a problem with jellies, but it seems to be easing off: there are less reports of 'em being in the waters or by the shoreline, so I don't have to worry about getting stung. I still have the scars from me last encounter with 'em on me gams: my legs are a patchwork of scars and stripes; they look terrible!
I'm embarrassed to wear me bikini! Me legs are a wreck!
That sounds like a grand idea: spendin' time on the beach and maybe have a shrimp barbie. Yeah, it would be a perfect way to end the summer! Then maybe for Easter, we can go to the Harbour and spend the day at the Opera House or watching the boats on the water ... that sounds like a wonderful plan!
Well, I hate to run, but Alissa is screechin' up a storm: don't know what's got her shorts tied up in a knot, but something's got her upset! I will wriet in here again soon; sorry it's been so long, mates! Take care and talk to you again soon!
~Love, your friend in Oz, Meegin. :)
