Remembering Raymond, My Firefighter Hero. (Part One)

A very angry woman remembers her uncle who died while trying to rescue people from the Twin Towers nearly nine years ago.

I will never forget him.  My uncle Raymond Guiseppe Caldonado, who died nearly nine years ago (it will be nine years on Saturday).  He died while trying to rescue people from the Twin Towers; he was crushed when the towers fell.

I miss him.  He would have been thirty years old on Saturday.  He died on his birthday, doing what he loved best: trying to help people in need.

Angry?  You bet.  Angry because the terrorists who did this had absolutely no remorse in their hearts, and angry because nothing has been done to punish those responsible, and angry because the new leader of our country doesn't seem to care.

I'm also angry because they want to build a mosque enar where this took place.  If you ask me, this is a mistake, and a disaster waiting to happen.  I am very much against the mosque idea; after all, wasn't it Muslims (Islamics) who did this crime in the first place?? Why are we catering to them???  I tell ya, I think the president we have now is one of the stupidest people on the planet; he is probably the worst president ever!!

It happened once:  what's to say it won't happen again? The next time, it might be worse.  Very much so!

I'm sorry, but I can't deal with the memories.  I am doing everything possible to forget, but how can I forget? My uncle died trying to help people.  Twin towers no longer stand tall in New York City, and the Pentagon isn't as strong as we were led to believe.  Over three thousand innocent men, women, and chlldren died at the hands of evil people who had no intention except to try to bring America to her knees and who have nothing but hate in their hearts.

It is during this time of year when I turn bitter.  I don't want to talk about it to others; it's like another slap in the face, and it's like reopening old wounds that never healed!

I hate September, and I hate those who did this even more.  I wish they'd turn that area into a sea of glass and burn their mosques and their Qurans!  They deserve to die after what they did to us nearly 9 years ago!!

Thank you for the review, Michael. You're entitled to your opinion, and I am mine. No, have never met or talked to President Obama, but I do not like the way this country is going under his leadership. Have you met or talked to President Obama?

When you say: “I think the president we have now is one of the stupidest people on the planet,” is a clear indication of your ignorance. Do you know our president personally? You also say that the new leader of our country doesn’t seem to care about the attacks on the twin towers. My question is this: How do you know this? Have you spoken with Mr. Obama? I don’t recall our president saying anything inappropriate about the terrorist attacks. Just in case you’re wondering I am a republican and do not agree with the majority our president’s decisions. But that does not mean I know the man and how he feels about 9/11. I find your comments irresponsible and unfounded. Comments such as yours divide, rather than unite us as a nation.

A lot of people hate September too ... may we never forget. :( Sadness and anger in these lines. Well done, Karen.
