Dear Journal~
Bonjour from Cajun Country!
This is your friend, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux writing; hope this finds y'all well and happy!
I am singing tomorrow as part of our church's Christmas Cantata. I will be singing a solo and the choir will be backing me up. NOT worried about that at all; I know my music backwards and forewards, upside down and right side up. LOL
The thing I'm worried most about is trying to get by the monitors and wires the sound guys have put up on the stage. I don't want to fall flat on my face, right in front of everybody, especially since I'm not that steady on my feet as it is! LOL That would be so mortifying!
I am singing the solo for the song, "One Quiet Night". I'm also one of the characters in the play ("Kelly"). So I have to act as well. I had a lot to learn but have since seemed to have gotten it down pat, which is a huge relief. All I'm ready for now is for the Cantata itself and for it to be over.
Then I will be singing a solo for the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services. I will be singing "O, Holy Night", which has become an annual thing for me.
The weather is nice: mild and sunny, but we may have some rain later in the week. Hope not, but if that's what the weather calls for, then there's nothing I can do to control it. God has that job. :)
At the start of next week, I (as well as Michael) will be heading home to Tennessee. where we will spend Christmas with my family. I just saw them on Thanksgiving and all look wonderful! I sure miss them; it's not the same being in my own home with the ones I love and cherish! Monday starts Christmas vacation; I don't have to return home until the sixth. It will be great to see my family and see my church friends again!
Just say some prayers for me, the choir, the sound/lighting crew, the soloists, and the actors who are participating; we could really use a touch from God tomorrow! Most of all, however, pray for the people who come to see the Cantata; pray that lives and hearts are touched with the Message we are trying to convey! I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
