Top o' the mornin' to y'all! Faith and begorrah, it's St. Patrick's Day!
Won't be long: Michael and I are in the middle of gettin' ready for the parade, which starts at 10:00 sharp this morning in downtown Lafayette. We're going. Also in the parade: we're ridin' on the LSU-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns float. Have the customary red, black, and white on (the school's colors), but also have plenty of green on, too, to celebrate the wearin' o' the green!
I put some green streaks in my hair and have on green socks, plus my green Mardi Gras beads and eyeshadow, as well as green glitter shamrocks on my face and, of course, the green streaks I just mentioned. :) Michael dyed his hair grass green and has green on from head to toe; he looks like the Jolly Green Giant! LOLOLOL
I love today: I have Irish in my blood and on St. Patrick's Day, it pops out strong. I love to tease people and say that for today, my name is Ronessa (Ronee') Le-Anne Marie O'Reaux. :) They usually get a kick out of it or say my last name is French, not Irish. I tell 'em, "Everybody's Irish on St. Patrick's Day!", which they are, if they so choose to be. :) And I tell 'em I have Irish in my heritage, so that makes me legit. :D
After the parade festivities, since I'm off today from both school and work, Michael and I are going to go shopping at the mall (have some money burnin' a hole in my pocketbook) and then go dancing at LaPoussiere', which is where we usually hang out (but we both get home before 1 in the morning, as we have church tomorrow; we try not to miss it). It is going to be a fun, productive day!
We're both getting excited: in a few weeks, we're going home to Tennessee to visit family and friends; we'll be there for a week. I always look forward to seeing Maman, Daddy, and my brothers and sisters again! Speaking of, Maman and Daddy are adopting two more: a little three-year-old boy from Japan named Akihiko Kenji, and a six-year-old girl from Haiti named Bastienne Camille (she will be known as Camille). I can't wait to meet my new little brother and sister; it's gonna be GREAT!
Hopefully by the time Michael and I get there, Camille and Aki will be with the family!
Well, it's high time we both boogie to Parade Central, so we don't miss our float or miss being in the parade! I will write in here again; I hate to go, but I have no chioce! Priorities. Until later, this is Ronee' O'Reaux saying so long; may God bless you always! Love y'all!
~Ronee' Le-Anne. :D
