A servant named, Music...

I have a friend whose name is Jesus. He is my very best friend...a friend above all friends. I go to visit Him often...knowing that I am welcome at any time. He is always home and we have the type of relationship that I don't have to let Him know when I'm going to visit...I can just 'drop by' any time, day or night, His home is always open to me.

My friend has a servant. His servant's name is Music. Now,  there are other worthy servants whose name is Music also but, Jesus' servant, Music, works only for Jesus and tends to the needs of those seeking an audience with Jesus.

There are times when I feel a need to visit Jesus and even while I am approaching the door, Music runs to meet me and we walk into my friend's house together. Such a good and reliable servant, he welcomes me into his Master's place with open arms. I have known him quite a while and he eagerly takes my bag and any other 'weighty' things that I may be 'carrying'. Tenderly, he leads me to a warm, peaceful, resting place and offers a soothing, thirst quenching drink, that is uniquely his own. I tell you, his care is 'divine hospitality' such as I've never known and all the while, he continuously assures me of my friend's soon entrance.

My anticipation is heightened, as this wonderful servant let's me know that I've come to the right place and whatever it is I'm seeking, Jesus will not send me away empty. Then he goes on to tell me that whatever gifts I have brought Jesus; my praise, my worship, my adoration...will be received jubilantly and doubly reciprocated.

I am overjoyed when I hear from him that my dear friend somehow already 'knew' I was coming for a visit, therefore, the servant was duly 'instructed' as to what to say to me and how to say it... and he does it excellently.

Yes, Music does his job of preparing me for Jesus' arrival well. So well, in fact, that even when he is not there I still remember him. Just thinking of his words, which are melodious and his timeless  beckonings, softens my heart and leads me to 'yearn' for the embrace and love my friend, once more.

Now...it should be mentioned and understood that no matter how wonderful Music is, if I had to, I could  very well do without him. But, on the other hand, it's my friend, Jesus ...that I could never...ever...do without. So, as appreciative of  Music as I am...only the entrance of Jesus makes my visit completely worthwhile.

Still...I must give credit where credit is due; a good, right and ready servant, whom I do treasure so very much is...Music.

Joyce, music is born of mood and like you, I love it, too. I can understand how it soothes or sustains you in combination with JESUS.

Very nice Joyce, it is knowing that he is always waiting with open arms to greet us. The Lord knows our every need before we ask, but he likes for us to ask him. May God bless you every day of your life.
