A Butterfly Kissed Me

This butterfly would not leave me alone.
Last weekend, we had our community garage sale and I have to admit, I have never liked garage sales, but my husband loves going- I see him as wishing he could be one of the "American Pickers" and look through people's cast offs and old treasures 24/7. I noticed that my neighbor had quite a few things in her yard and many people were stopping by- so I decided I would put a few big things out. One of these big things was my daughter's loft bed. I told my daughter she could have the money. While we were sitting outside overseeing our "garage sale", I told my kids that it would just take the right person. The phone rang and it was my good friend, Crystal. We half jokingly said- let's send light to the loft bed so it can sell... as we were talking... a gentleman came up and bought the bed- his young son was sooooo excited to be getting a new bed.
Afterward, I was thinking about how quickly everything happened, and a butterfly started flying around my head. I don't have many butterflies in my yard- I maybe see two or three a year. This butterfly would not leave me alone- it kept buzzing around my head. Finally, I said, "I see you." and it flew high in the sky and disappeared.
A few days later, I was driving 45 miles per hour down the road with my window open and a butterfly flew in my window and started flying around in front of my face and then flew back out of the window. Both experiences with the butterflies left me touched. It was as if God was saying, I am with you even for the simplest things.

| Amen! It's amazing what (or who) God will use to let us know that He is always with us; regardless of whether we believe it or acknowledge Him or not. Thanks for the story. It reminded me that all I have to do is look up and He is there. By the way, I can't stand "garbage" sales either! LOL Thanks again! The Drill Sergeant of Life |
