I'm beginning to hate the approaching season of spring .... not so much in the way of warmer weather or flowers/trees blooming, but the weather that sometimes goes along with it.
We're under the gun again for severe storms. We are under a tornado watch until 2 p.m., this afternoon, and according to the radar, there are some very nasty storms to our northwest, quickly heading in our direction. The kids have just left for school; I pray they get their safe and sound ... it's just Bill, myself, Ian, Isaiah, the older kids like Johnny and Jodie, and the animals; we're all hunkered down in our saferoom.
Our area is under a "moderate" risk, which translates to this: we're gonna get it.
I will have to say some heavy duty prayers for the safety of my children and also the buses, and pray they get to their schools without incident.
A mother's work is never done, especially when it comes to worrying about the safetey and protection of her brood ... (Sigh ...)
Bill is in a lot of pain today. He is moving around like the Tin Man, and he looks miserable. I feel for him. My arthritis is talking, too, but at least mine is managable (for the most part). I can only imagine what PaPere' and Maman must be feeling ... they both have arthritis as well. They are with us here too, in the saferoom. So far, we hear nothing, but I am sure we will start to hear thunder and some wind before too long, as the line of storms closes in on the Nashville metro area ...
We're supposed to have some clear/drier weather for the next few days before the chance of rain comes back later this week. Then we're supposed to have more in the way of storms.
In addition to the tornado watch, our area has been under a flood watch. No kidding. It's been raining like cats and dogs the last few days! I am already more then ready for this pattern to break! I don't want a repeat performance of the catastrophic flooding we had last May!!
Once was more than enough!!
Well, Johnny's radio is sounding off, so I am going to go. Pray for us; pray we get through today in one piece, without too much in the way of damage!! I'd greatly appreciate it; thanks in advance!
