NOTE: MANY OF THESE LINKS ARE NO LONGER VALID - I WISH I HAD SAVED ALL THE RELATED WORKS - THIS TRULY WAS AN INTRIGUING CHALLENGE. Dana Matthews has since left the Den, La Belle Rouge has left the Den, and Joseph removed the specific articles from this write.
This is in response to La Belle Rouge's answer to my "Vampire Slayer's Challenge." Below is the series as of 10/26/2003. Please follow it, review it, comment on it.
Entranced by the Vixen - Leila's Revenge
Her piercing eyes stared deeply into mine, as I tried to approach her.
She knew my purpose was to end her immortal rein of terror.
“Good evening, Lady Leila,” I taunted. “I’m Count Bartholomew.”
“You shall be my passion-slave,” she said, with dripping sensuality,
and a voice so hypnotic, no mortal could resist.
But, I kept reminding myself that I was no mere mortal. My charter
on this earth had long ago been written. My purpose has been, and always will be,
to rid the earth of her type: the undead thieves of mortal souls.
“I shan’t bite you… not just yet. First, I must be sure I’ve used
you as I please, and to fulfill my desires. When the time is right,
you shall become one with me, and with my world; and we shall
be together for all eternity.”
Tonight, my purpose was not to be fulfilled. Although not under
her irresistible spell, I was still entranced by this vapid vixen,
with her piercing eyes; her flowing, flaming hair and her alabaster skin.
I was resolved to remain, and play her game, and I would be her passion-slave;
Whether or not I would slay her, I had yet to completely decide.
There was just something about her, her vampish spell aside.
Something that kept me entranced, no matter what I tried.
I hadn’t felt this way in years… would this be suicide?
Ah! But my charter having long been pre-determined, what she
did not know was that my blood would not satisfy her blood lust.
If she dared bite me, my blood, so extremely rare, would be
poison to her immortal being, and then I would watch as
her perfect, porcelain body writhed in pain as the lifelessness
overtook her undead visage.
But… maybe she did know! Maybe this was Leila’s revenge: taunting
me into her den of evil, just to use me and then try and elude me.
No matter, though, because now I found myself falling madly and
deeply in love with this evil, but hauntingly beautiful creature; In love
with the very creature I was put on this earth to destroy.
What sweeter revenge can there be than this?
