Ronee', the little Cajun girl who wrote the first part of this letter, continues her letter to Santa.

Wednesday, November 19, 2003~

Dear Pere' Noel:

Hi! Remember me?

You SHOULD: I was the little kid who wrote you earlier; I thought I was done with my letter to you, but I guess I was wrong! LOL

No, I am NOT going to ask for something like a HUMMER for my Christmas/birthday (my gift list is in the first letter; and there are NO HUMMERS listed; besides, I am only 11, and I am TOO young to drive! LOL), but I AM going to list some wishes I would like to see come true for Christmas or the New Year.

First of all, I would like to see peace come to our land. I am tired of hearing about more wars, more troubles, or more strife in our world. WHY can't we just learn to get along and stop hating (or killing) one another and learn to accept people for their differences? WHY can't we stop hating each other or wanting to hurt one another, just because they may happen to believe in a different way or look different? That is NO reason for killing or hurting someone; that is totally uncalled for, and it is STUPID!

Secondly, I wish people from other lands would stop hating us here in America. I know we get in other people's business; but we are only trying to protect other nations from future terrorist attacks; and I think this is why we are over there in Iraq. Terrorism has gone on for far too long as it is, and it needs to be stopped..NOW. These terrorists or their supporters need to be found/caught/and/or PUNISHED with the SEVEREST form of the law, or they are just going to go on and continue their evil and killing ways! Our world isn't safe since 9/11, and I want this killing or hating of Americans or their allies to STOP! We are NOT bad people, and we DON'T deserve to be treated this way! I am sure you wouldn't like it if WE did it to YOU!! Think about how WE feel about this hatred towards us: we DON'T like it, and we want you to STOP hating us and learn to get along with us! We DON'T hate YOU; WHY, then, MUST you hate US??

Thirdly, I want the poor or elderly (or even the disabled) people to be helped. I hate to see programs meant to help the poor/elderly/disabled cut; it only puts more harm on the people involved, and it seems like more and more people are ending out on the streets because the economy is so bad here. I also would like to see more money go towards helping the poor or disabled or the elderly HERE instead of sending it overseas or wasting it on things that the government DOESN'T need! WHY send the money overseas when there are people here in AMERICA who are hurting, and nobody seems willing to help THEM?? We are hurting HERE; and too many people need help HERE!

I would also like to see prayer return to our schools. No, you don't have to pray if you don't believe; but as a Christian, I DO believe in God, and I think I should be allowed to pray to Him if I want! I am NOT bothering you if I want to pray; it isn't up to you! It's up to ME if I want to pray, and I think that if I want to pray here at school, then I should be allowed to!

I know some of these requests are hard for you to fulfill, but Santa, if you could just TRY to fix ONE of the above problems, then I would be much happier about our world than I am. I am living in a scary, uncertain world, and I don't feel safe. I don't LIKE being scared or afraid all of the time: I am a happy person by nature, and I DON'T like worrying about things like terrorism, the threat of war, or violence! I am only a kid, and I think I should feel SAFE and SECURE, NOT afraid!!

Well, Santa, this is it. I hope that you can help this world because I sure don't like being scared all of the time! Being scared BITES!

God bless you, and thanks for listening to me.

Have a good day, Santa, and God bless!

~Love, Your Tennessee Pal, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux (aged 10 1/2).
