A beagle with a king-sized personality "barks" about his life.

Oh, exCUSE me! Sorry about that! I didn't mean to go barking at the mouth again; but I keep forgetting that you aren't Canine!

My name is Rodriguez, or for short, Roddy. I am an American Beagle. I am one of the best known of all Dog Breeds, and I am very popular with many Dog Owners, especially Children. I am a fairly medium-sized Dog, with a white chest and legs, and I have white on my face, and I also have brown, tan, and black on my coat. I have long, floppy ears and big, limpid, dark eyes that I know how to use when I want to beg for treats or some extra attention from my Owner! LOL My Human's name is Roberto, Roberto Sormiento, and his Lady Human's name is M'Buti. The two Adult Humans have three Small Human Children, two Boys and a Girl, named Jubaki and Kibarake (the boys), and Eshe' (the Girl). Jubaki is the oldest Boy, and Kibarake and Eshe' are Twins, meaning that they were born on the same day.

I love my Human Family very much, but there is one Family Member whom I miss very much. That is "Afiya". "Afiya" was a Cheetah, but after the Twins were born nearly two years ago, their Human Mommy thought that the Cheetah would hurt the Babies, so the Cheetah went to a Place called a Zoo, where Wild Animals are kept. I was raised with "Afiya" because at the time, she was sick, and my Human Daddy thought that she would do better if she had a Friend, and that Friend so happened to be me. We were together for nearly a year, and we enjoyed each other's company very much. We romped around and played, and we ate together, slept together, even fought together. I loved "Afiya", but she was too fast for me, and she always beat me whenever we would have races. I was forever barking at her, telling her to "Slow Down!" Yeah, I know "Afiya" was a Cat, but she still made a great Friend, and when she went to the Zoo place, I cried and howled like nobody's business, and my Human Mommy had her Husband put me outside because she couldn't stand the fuss I was making. (She has NO sense of Humor! NONE! She drives me CRAZY!!)

Besides playing with my Human Family, I love to sleep, eat (what Doggie doesn't??), go swimming (it feels sooo good on a hot, summery day! I happen to be a champeen swimmer, Olympic gold-medal material if there ever was any!), go for Walks with my Human Daddy and the Kids (My Human Mommy doesn't go out often because she uses a thingie with wheels, and it is hard for her to get around at times, plus she often doesn't feel good; maybe that is one reason she is so grouchy!), meet my Doggie Neighbors, and raid the Garbage Cans at night (but then, that is before my Human Mommy makes her Husband put me into the garage; if you ask me, she is such a Sourpuss!), and go for rides in my Daddy's HUMMER car, with the windows rolled down and the wind rushing through my ears and seeing the scenery as it passes by! That is always a total blast! I also love it when we go on vacations because I can go along, and I can meet new Animal Friends and see New Places that I have never seen before! But I have not been able to see my Friend "Afiya" because the Zoo Place doesn't allow Doggies or any Animals that are Pets, so I have to stay home and try to amuse myself somehow! (Usually I just get bored, so I end up going to sleep!)

We have a huge house, and we have a big yard, where I can stretch my Paws and run around like crazy. My Humans make sure I get my daily allotment of exercise, and that way, I don't get fat or lazy. I may be a Dog, but I am in terrific shape, and I am NOT a bad-looking Beagle, if I DO say so myself! I am QUITE the Handsome Dude!

Well, that is my story. It isn't much, but then, what DO you expect from a DOG?? A NOVEL?? Maybe I will write again down the line; who knows? Maybe I can become a bestsellling Author!

So long for now! This is Roddy saying TOODLES! ARF! ARF!!

~Roddy (only the Cutest Beagle on Planet Earth, if I DO say so myself! Lookit my picture, and see what you think!)
