After several years as an Insurance Agent dealing in the 65+ market, I was miserable. A large majority of our seniors are in desperate need. They are not sure whether to buy food or the medications. Being very empathetic, I could feel their needs -- I could not comply or help where help was really needed -- I was just like another wolf at their door trying to get their money.
<BR>I am a very ambitious woman and have worked most of my life -- starting at Ford Motor Company at l8 years old. I am now 54 and just started a new Company and finally I believe I found my niche. E-Com Global -"Connecting the World and Changing Lives." This is my passion my burning desire and now E-Commerce provides the avenue I have been searching for all these years. <BR>My adventure in E-Commerce Wonderland began in November 2000. However, I got detained along the way in the "Bermuda Triangle of the WEB." Heed my experiences -- you just don't know what can happen. $10,000 it cost to me -- I have a story to tell
. <BR>On March 23, 2001, I had a herniation removed from my neck and 3 disks replaced #5, #6 and #7. After surgery, toward the end of March, I signed up for E-Commerce affiliations and associations on the Internet. However, it was impossible to fulfill my commitment to any of these groups I joined based on computer problems with GATEWAY and getting on line with AOL. <BR>
In the beginning I joined a group called, "THE STARTERS CLUB." This was a group of gung-ho -- urgent -- hurry -- right now -- doers and leaders. I was joining everything - I do mean EVERYTHING. By May 2001, I had joined these groups, clubs, organizations, advertising opportunities: adland pro, American dream nutrition, adnetwork, bannergomlm, beggars banquet, big booster, bizland, blast for cash, cellphonetoolbox, che-ching, city news, classifiedclub, clickbank, cognigen, commission junction, company credit cards, cybergold, daily dream builders, domain hosting, dream-minder, ebizrotator, e-gold, e2.tv, eorbis, ffanet, financial circuit, free leads for life, free money making magazine, getresponse, giftline, global info, goto.com, good life now international, heavyhitters downline club, help page, HNB, HYO, link place, lotto team 20, lyris, melaleuca, millennium millionaires, mintmail, moonlitsubmit, myecom, my link site, my success center, netflip, 911 hits, paypal, people sound, power group, pro-list, rexall, roibot, 7upline, sharebuilder, simplilbiz, sitesell, six figure income, smallbiz.ffa, spedia, standard reserve, the miracle team, the simple system, the starters club, the success website, travel & leisure, the ultimate marketing solution, tripod, $20 magic ads, virtualbankcard, website-claymont, wildfire, worldsubmitter, yalzer browser, your cheque, your traffic - I am sure there were others.
<BR>Even though I never had a chance to view or work any of the aforementioned opportunities, they continued to charge my credit cards. This is e-commerce, thus, communication is based on the e-mails and follow-up through the computer. I DID NOT HAVE A WORKING COMPUTER because of continual problems with AOL and GATEWAY.
<BR>The computer problems started in November 2000- new monitor from Gateway $5l0.00 was only the beginning. Gateway Repairs & Upgrades: $495.92, $85.35, $272.l6 with problems continuing AOL problems etc..etc..until May 2000. <BR>Finally, on 5-01-01, I ordered Time-Warner Cable because the modem was unable to connect. On 5-02-01, the Gateway tech instructed ME how to REMOVE the modem - well 7 stitches later - I cut the web of my hand trying to prevent the computer from tipping over, I had to take the computer to Gateway and had a blow-out on the expressway - Thank God I was near an exit or it could have been fatal. <BR>Then I was advised I could not use the cable with AOL unless I got a dial up modem to install KEYWORD: Step 5 that was necessary patch for this performance. <BR><BR>>From 5-l0-01through 5-20-01 -the Gateway Tampa Store Supervisor promised to fix the machine as I was being deprived of my livelihood due to time loss. I told them to please get the dial up modem working - download AOL Step 5 - then I could use the cable connection. Instead, they corrupted my IE, they did not follow AOL instructions and when I picked up the GATEWAYon 5-21-0l the dial-up modem was cracked. <BR>Oh, by the way, on 5-13-01 at 4:30 AM, the police arrived banging on our door - the cable company had cut the telephone wires and created an arc that made 911 calls every few minutes. On 5-14-01, Verizon fixed this problem. <BR>On 5-23-01, I finally got a new computer a "SAGER". Of course, it arrived with a bad harddrive and had to be returned to the factory. On 5-24-01, finally the GATEWAY had a dial up modem so I could make the STEP 5 necessary patch so the roadrunner service would work. NO WAY: Gateway was NOT compatible with cable. I had to dial up AOL, download Step5 with the new NIC card and I had to delete ME and reinstall WIN98 to use RR. <BR>Summary: Gateway and AOL shrug off the responsibility of any problem to the other - pointing fingers - taking no responsibility and there is ABSOLUTELY no cooperation. You - the customer are stuck like a monkey-in-the-middle of a circle jerk. When you call you are put in a que and you never know who you will be working with. Each tech has their own opinion and each time you call you get a different tech. I asked the Gateway Supv. at the onset of these problems if my computer was too old to accommodate my new E-Com on-line business. He said, "NO". They upgraded the system, installed a CD burner. Cracked my modem and made the GATEWAY totally disfunctional. Gateway had very poor customer service and incompetent management. Empty promises and they run their service and quality control departments in a very untimely manner. The built-in-obsolescene is up to the minute (ex: moniter, computer, etc.). AOL and GATEWAY are Water & OIL. <BR>Gateway was not in tune with cable hookup, however, they monopolize your hardware. Once you purchase a GATEWAY you are stuck. AOL is also extremely frustrating. How is a problem fixed when you have 4 or 5 different techs for the same on-going problem. Monopolizing the market in one thing, but doing so inefficiently should be a crime. This experience has taught me many lessons and left me in a financial strain. <BR>Finally, I just leased all new equipment from Dell and so far I have not been handicapped with computer problems. <BR>The aforementioned experiences lead me to believe - I needed my OWN E-Commerce Biz. I need to provide an affiliatate program. I need to help others with a REAL product and REAL business opportunities and REAL support. <BR>My new business is E-Com Global Inc. I have recovered as much as I can so far. Matter of fact, Ad Net and I still have a few misunderstandings to the tune of $765.00 for advertising -- What they advertised in in cyberspace somewhere. I really don't know. Last week, I just sent my Citibank Platinum card the information for the 5th time. (September 2000) <BR>Again, beware! Know WHO you are dealing with and WHAT are the REAL costs. I was so busy trying to get on line - I neglected to pay attention to the charges. When I did take a good look - I was clueless as to what I was being charged for. <BR>Remember, meet the people you deal with over the phone if necessary - take the intiative to know what is going on. I do not in any way intend to imply anyone could be so gung-ho and out of control as I was. I just was so excited. I began with the end in mind but somehow got caught in the BERMUDA TRIANGLE OF E-COMMERCE -- Tangled in the Web of AOL and Gateway - Lost control of my Charges and then dusted myself off and started all over again. <BR>This is it! My desire is on fire and E-Com Global is on the correct path to success - no stops along the way and no interference allowed. We are a family helping one another - that is what life is all about.
