Ronee' writes to her friend in California. She is rather bummed out because she found out that she needs to have joint replacement surgery next month on her hips, and she will be homebound during her recovery. Understandably, she is worried and scared.

Dear Rebekkah Rachel~

Hi! This is your friend, Ronee' Le-Anne. I wanted to write you to tell you that next month, I will be having surgery, serious surgery. I am having my hips replaced because the arthritis has really eaten up the joints and cartilage, and it's gotten so hard for me to walk without severe pain. I just found out about this today from my doctor, and I am totally bummed out because that means I will be spending the summer recuperating. I was counting on a fun-filled summer with no worries, but now it looks like those plans have changed.

Other than that, I have been doing well since my last flare; but as I just said, my walking has really suffered, and my hips hurt all the time now; and it's just been one big pain after another (LITERALLY!). We did go to the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival, and I did sing there. My brother broke his tailbone a few weeks ago, so he has a big pain in the butt, and it is hard for him to try to get uncomfortable. He will write to you soon, but he's been in too much pain to write, but he said for me to tell you that he WILL write you sometime this week; and that is a PROMISE. I hope this finds you well. What did you do for your mother yseterday, seeing it was Mother's Day? We took our mom out to eat at the Golden Corral after church (boy, it was CROWDED!!), and we took her to a special Mother's Day event they had going on at Centennial Park here in downtown Nashville, and we made her cards and gave her flowers; and of course, she cried like a big boob. She is such a softie; all you have to do is look at her a certain way or say something sweet, and she turns to mush! LOL But she did have a good day, so we accomplished our Mother's Day goals!

How is the weather there in Sacramento? Has it stopped raining there? Here, it is rainy and yuck, and my hips are really talking to me today; had to use my wheelchair today because they were really bothering me, and then I saw Dr. Hansen, and she sprung the news about the surgery to me, and now I am majorly, totally depressed. The weather certainly isn't helping my dark mood any. So on that note, I am going to lie down and try to get some sleep; I don't really feel like doing much of anything today. I did want to write to you to see how you were doing, and also to tell you about this stupid surgery that I am now facing next month. Just keep me in your prayers, that is all I ask. I hear hip surgery is major news, and I am scared that something will happen, and then I'll be in a wheelchair all the time! I also am upset that I will have to spend the next several months in recovery mode, and I don't want to be inactive; I want to be able to PLAY this summer, not spend it recuperating from HIP surgery!!

~Love, your pal, Ronee' Le-Anne in Nashville. :( >tears<
