this is a story i made up. still writing more. enjoy.

”I sat in the dark frozen corner and cried my eyes out until I could cry no more. The wind began to blow dust in my eyes because the door in the ware house was opening and closing making a “swish“ noise. I watched the rain fall from the sky as it fell upon the ground. I stared at the trees swaying gently back and forth in the distance. I heard footsteps silently padding against the street. I never got scared of anything at night, not even strangers. Not less than a second or more, a strange person appeared in the abandoned warehouse I was sleeping in. I never had company so this scared me to death. My legs were trying to get up and run before this stranger could even make eye contact with me, but I was too weak.

“What do you want with me? I am already poor, have no clothes, food or shelter, and I don’t have anything. I can’t imagine to have something that you want because as you see, I am homeless.” I stated in fright because I had no clue what this odd person might want with me. He gave me a deep gaze before speaking,

“I don’t want to hurt you and I don’t want anything from you. I’m Ben and you see, I am from the orphans of the world society and want you to come live with me until you find a family.”

I shot him a harsh look and gave him his answer “no”. Even though I was weak from not having food for a couple of months I took of in a flash not looking back to see if he had come after me to send me to the orphanage. I bet your thinking, Why would she throw down an offer to have a family? I will explain exactly what was running through my mind to give me the guts to say no to Ben. If I had said yes then Ben would have taken me to an awful place and I wouldn’t be with my “real” family. Also, I am not an orphan. I am lost. Lost in this huge world looking for my family. They lost me when I was in the hospital, some crazy man had stolen me when I was born and then abandoned me. So, I know where my family lives and know I can find them some how and some way. I have faith.

I knew I couldn’t spend any more time weeping and wandering the streets, I had to step up, Get realistic. People had handed me $20 dollar bills feeling bad for me so I used that for food and I got a newspaper to find out the latest transportation.

I walked into McDonalds with about 15 dollars saving five for the newspaper. It felt so good to go up to the cash register and order something instead of searching constantly in trash cans for food that people wasted. I ordered a hamburger, ice cream, chocolate milk, and chicken nuggets for later. It only took 5 minutes before they gave me my dream meal. I rushed to the table and devoured my food in half the time a normal wealthy person would. I noticed a woman sitting across from with her kids was staring at me. She finally got the nerve to approach me and asked, “Are you alright?”. I couldn’t tell her everything because then she could call the orphanage or make part of her family so I just replied, “Yes I am fine. Just hungry that’s all.” She went back to her seat knowing something was wrong but didn’t want to embarrass her self again. As soon as I was done eating, I shoved my chicken nuggets into my jacket pocket for safe keeping. I might get hungry later so why waste food? I left the restaurant and walked into the streets. With my five dollars in hand I ran up to the newspaper stand and bought a newspaper. As I flipped thorough pages I finally found a article about transportation saying that a huge cruise ship was coming in to Washington and was headed to Florida. This was perfect, I could sneak on to the cruise ship some how and go to Florida and meet my family.

When I had bought the newspaper It was only 75 cents so I had enough money to buy at least one new piece of clothing. I was excited when I got a new t- shirt because now since I didn’t look so baggy, I could go to church. I always missed church, and I was ashamed of that. I bet it was strange seeing a twelve-year-old sitting all by herself at church with out her family. Now I only had to work out a plan to sneak on the boat and then my life begins.

I wasn’t sure how, but I knew I had to sneak on the boat somehow. If not, I would have to sit on the streets and wait for $500 bucks, like that would happen. I always blanked out but this time, I stared into space for a LONG time. I saw a mental picture. It was pretty freaky. I saw a HUMONGOUS cruise ship getting passengers on and then people loading boxes onto the ship. I was in that box. I saw myself with a boy. It was strange because I never met people. I suddenly woke up from my weird vision. What had just happened?

Deja Vu

The next day I found myself doing the same exact thing in my vision. I had déjà vu.I was getting on a cruise ship. It felt like a big adventure but better. I had met a REALLY nice guy named Bryan. He too was homeless. Which was werid because, I never met anyone. Nope. Except for Ben. That was it. No one. Ever.
When we had snuck in on the boat by hiding in boxes my adrenaline was rushing and my heart was pounding. I wasn’t sure if we were going to survive and make or way there. I guess we’ll just have to try. I thrased open my box resting my head on the top. I ran out on the top of the deck looking for a chair to rest on , or maybe a abandoned towel. That was not the best idea I had ever had. I stepped onto the deck and felt my body toss and lose control. My body was trying to fight the forces of the wind as they pulled against every strength they had. I stood my ground, I knew I could do this. Faith. Faith was everything. I took slow steady steps and looked under a chair, it flew up in to the winds of the night. The black night sky was like a whirlwind blowing the winds so no one could defeat this horrid storm. I ran until I found the storage space.

I scurried off into the storage room looking for shelter. In the distance I heard footsteps silently padding against the floor. They got louder
and louder and Louder. I frantically hide behind a box. Then I saw a crew member, standing in front of me. I stopped breathing and everything was silent. I could feel my nose twitching and I almost sneezed but stopped my self. The crew member took out his flashlight and waved it around the room but found nothing. I was almost out of breath and I could not take it anymore. I needed air. I needed oxygen. The crew member took out his walkie talkie. He was needed for a task he ran out of the room. I let my breath out with a heavy sigh.
Before anyone could find me I ran and ran and ran hidden. I dropped down on my knees and began to cry for a while but then stopped. I knew I had to be strong. I couldn't stop here, not now. No, I had come to far. I wasn't going to give up. I lyed down with the tears drying on my face. The rain was pounding against my chest and the lightning booming in my ears. My long scraggly brown hair stuck to my face. The ground felt cold to my chest. It felt as if I was reliving the day i really stepped up and made a plan to find my family. I knew I had to get rest though another day had come and days will keep on coming never stopping. So I gently closed my eyes and drifted off into my dreams.
The next morning I woke up and felt refreshed. I had, had a rough time last night but now everything felt fine. I had found Bryan and he felt great.

Gracious, how old are you? This is a very complex story for someone so young. I agree with Regis. You have the writing bug. Keep it up Riley! Blessings, Michelle
