This is just a trial chapter of a story line I have been thinking of, I hope I will get some feed back as to if I should continue this or not...

Frolics Beneath the Sea Of Fertility

Chapter one…

Deep below the frothy green Seas of Fertility, Seashell basked in the thin ray of sun that managed to find its way down through the depths to the bed of kelp she had staked out to sunbath in.  On her left flipping her tail rather nonchalantly at a school of passing hammerhead sharks was Jackie Pearle with her unusal shade of red hair glowing in the green of the sea lay her best friend. It was crowded at the popular landside beach today with all types of sea life taking in the warmth and socializing. Bee Luga the young Orca Whale from Owen Sound was acting as fish guard today sitting upon the stern of the sunken boat just off the edge of the reef. Normally the area was peaceful but now and then the telltale bubbles would be spotted of a pair of killer humans and as fish guard she would sound the alarm and all would rush to safety.

Sea Shell and Jackie rose and made their way to the concession stand at the edge of the reef and decided to indulge themselves in some tasty seaweed fries and brine cola as they giggled checking out the mermen that hung out and liked to show off their pectoral fins trying to impress them. One in particular who’s name was Feenian Haddie but went by Fee, seemed to have an interest in Sea Shell flipped over three times and came to rest beside her.

“Hey Shelly baby, what do say, how about you and old Fee going back to my oyster bed later and making some bubbles of our own?” Feenian asked giving her what he thought to be his most seductive bubble eyes.

Lily giggled and some of her seaweed floated free of her rubbery lips and floated topside, as she looked at Shelly and gave her the “I told you so” look.

Sea Shell turned towards Fee and putting a cold flipper on his arm which made him perk up noticeably smiled sweetly and with a shake of her long blonde hair said:

“Gee Fee, I would like that, but do you think Daddy Neptune will let you off the reef after the fiasco you got into with Missi Octipi last weekend. I heard you went home with dry eyes because she was all hands.”

The roar of laughter from Jackie and the others gathered around the concession stand drowned out Fee’s mumbled good byes as with a sudden back flip of his emerald tail he was gone. Bee rolled over and breached to the surface before coming to a slow threading next to Shell and Jackie. Bee considered herself more worldly then the other fish life around and usually offered her opinion without being asked.

“Sea Shell, Fee is one fine specimen of merman, if you don’t mind my saying so, his pecs are filling out quite nicely and as King Neptune’s favorite ova he has a fine future ahead of him here on the reef. I wouldn’t go out of my way in kicking him out of an oyster bed for munching shrimp if I were you.”

Sea Shell, who secretly liked Fee, said nothing but she blushed the darkest shade of green that glowed shimmering in the aqua marine waters around her. Jackie Pearle giggled and watched as her row of bubbles trailed up from both gills on each side of her neck. Just loud enough for Bee and Shell to hear see started singing the song to a silly child fish song: “ Sea Shell and Feenian up on the shoals, K I S S I N G…”

Embarrassed Shell made up an excuse about having to help her mother with weeding the mussels on the outer banks and waving a flipper she swam off out of the range of her friend’s giggles. Once out into the deeper waters away from the reef she felt the relief of being able to enjoy being a mermaid, splashing, racing and flipping she loved the frolicking in the open sea. It was here as well that she often breached on a small island she had found and claimed as her own. She knew her parents frowned on her leaving the safety of the water’s depths but now and then one had to live dangerously she thought. She swam up onto the shallows of the surface beach and managed albeit somewhat awkwardly to pull herself up onto the beach where she could bask in the sun and watch the humans on the mainland. Mermaids were lucky that way, their eyesight was super magnified which also helped them to watch for floundering ships out at sea so though no one on the mainland could see her she could spy on them quite handily.

Sea Shell used her flipper like hands to preen and purge the seaweed and bits of shell from her hair, now out of the water her gills closed up and once she spewed a plume of water across the beach she was able to start breathing from the mouth again. The nipples on her boobs perked up from the unexpected warmth of the air and she giggled thinking thank God no one here to see her, and it was then she heard the gasp. Turning she looked to see Feenian sitting behind a low bush by the tree line. This time it was she who gasped for though in water a mermaid’s body was asexual in the air of the upper world her body transformed and took on human reproduction  qualities such as boobs, and a vagina and for the mermen penises. Shelly had never felt this embarrassed in her life and tried to cover herself but knew Fee had already had an eyeful.

Should you continue it? That depends entirely on you. To write a novel you have to have a clear picture of what's going to happen and how it will end. Divide it in chapters with a small resume for each chapter. Then give it a go. Afterwards will begin the real work: revising. Victor
