Looking back, the relationship is over and I wonder how did I ever think I could speak about love. However in a effort to keep a promise, I said I'd write more and since my house is too quite these days ...

It is 05:05am, and if you were to ask me why am I awake right now, writing this piece, I would say, "it's because I work at night", then I'd try to justify the odd hours by rationalizing that my job and the hours I work are obviously the reason I'm awake this time of the ??? What is 05:00am is it day or night? More to the point, I thought in the original effort that I would "explain" what love was, or maybe I thought I'd just give a perspective or what I felt my relationship was at the time. In the light of day, it appears MAYBE I didn't exactly have a grasp of all the facts, or if I had the inside knowledge I thought I had. There might be someone sleeping beside me at night. So, apparently I'm not the authority figure I would've like to have thought I was. And having been so sure, and being so wrong. I am officially snake bitten, I now question everything, that's right, even me, the original optimist, the man in the rainbow shades is, at last skeptical. Which is only fair, I was born into a family of skeptics, surrounded by a world of skeptics. "We" (the people that believe as we do, which of course, I'm not sure who "they" are or if they know who they are, nor am I sure these professed members, really believe as they say they do.)But as I was saying, "we" doubt that even the original doubting Thomas was really who it is said he was. It was his cousin, "Confused Jim", who has said, Tommy was basically a good guy, and Tommy regretted being known as the poster child for the person for having no faith. He remembers Thomas some years earlier had invented the big yellow smiley face, but never copyrighted it, as he was too involved in the ministry. Once he heard the word he renounced all his worldly processions, to serve in the ministry. To think all these years later a major store chain has adopted the smiley face as their own, now it is "the" icon for cutting prices, and is known universally. Thomas could have made millions. I doubt, of course, if this story's at all true , or if any of it is true , but stranger things have happen. Lowly everyday common men, have aspired to define love, and have tried to write, albeit not so eloquent renderings and have on occasion spoken as if they knew what love was. One guy even jumped up on a couch, on a major talk show, pumping his fist as he seemed beside himself with joy and "in love". Please keep that man away from the computer! He might embarrass himself. But to be honest, I think I know why he was so happy he knew he was not sleeping alone, well at least not for that night.
