A factual account of the "NO Show" wedding. Part one of the continuing saga of, "Life With the Pattersons".

Our son, Bob was to marry on Feb 3rd, 07 at 11am at near by park which offered a lush green tropical setting. We were quite excited as it was the first time he had considered getting married.
Much work had gone into preperations
and organization.

I made the bouquets, bountineers, and floral arrangements. Bob bought an archway, and he and his bride to be had decorated it with white and red roses.
The wedding dress was at our house, the tux at his, the cake was ordered and would be delivered Saturday morning.Food was made by different family members, and was ready for the Big event.

On Feb 2nd they were suspossed to decorate the park pavillion. We all showed up to help, but they never came. No one had heard from them. Friends and family were calling, we didn't know what to tell them. We were beginning to get nervous.

The morning of Feb 3rd dawned bright and sunny. We went to the park to see if they were there. Nothing had been done.
Family and friends were calling for directions, her family was calling, to talk to her. The cake had been delivered, the rest of the wedding party was wating. At 10 am, we went to the park and put up a sign stating the wedding had been cancelled. The minister was notified. Some of her realitives had flown from Tenn. to attend the wedding. I stayed at the park till noon to make sure everyone was informed.
Needless to say we were all very distraught!
Most of the guests went home, but a few lingered. We invited them to come to our house. We had plenty of food, and a beautiful wedding cake.

About 30 people came to our house. We decided to celebrate my husbands, and our oldest sons, birthdays.

Our somber mood lifted ,as friends and family joined together to make the best of the situation.
The wedding cake became a birthday cake, and we enjoyed the comrodiary that special times can bring.

As for my son and his bride to be; they never showed up till the next day. They stated they had decided not to marry. No other explanitions were or have been given.

Things in life happen for a reason, and perhaps its better they didn't marry. Its the way they backed out that hurt so many. This was just another event in, "Life with the Pattersons" !

THANK GOD THEY WERE ALL RIGHT! BUT WHAT ABOUT THE GIFTS??!! AND I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU THOUGH...THEY COULD HAVE 'CANCELLED OUT' MUCH BETTER THAN THEY DID, STILL, IT IS BETTER THAT THEY DIDN'T MAKE VOWS BEFORE GOD AND MAN THAT THEY FELT THEY COULDN'T KEEP. GLAD IT WASN'T A TOTAL LOST...THE 'BIRTHDAY PARTY' FOR YOUR HUSBAND AND OTHER SON SEEMED TO GO WELL. THANKS FOR SHARING, BLESSINGS AND LOL,

Oh my goodness, MaryGrace, what a disappointing experience! I applaud you for making the best of it, and at least not letting the cake and guests go to waste!

Its just the way they backed out that hurt so many.

I would have to agree, MaryGrace; doesn't sound like much fun for anyone involved.
