Rebecca McGregor regretted having selected her dream piano on the Internet. Yet her story is compelling and reveals a fighting back woman's courage in the face of loss.
Scanning through columns of online posted photos of exotic European grands such as Bosendorfer, Bechstein and Petrof that were listed separately from more mainstream makers, Yamaha and Kawai, etc. a cyber visitor to A440pianos.com would immediately appreciate its vast inventory of enchanting, dream-like pianos. And what made the virtual tour so engaging was a steady stream of moody 40's era piano selections that accompanied the journey. The nostalgic musical backdrop reminded me of Woody Allen's "Play it Again Sam," with its smoke filled bistro. Entranced by these alluring pianos, several of which looked enticing enough to own, I could readily understand how Rebecca McGregor might have been captivated by the whole seduction.
