Sitting in a rocking chair I quietly read words of love from this latest romance. Warmed by a fire who’s flames gently caress a new stack of wood. I am warm and happy content in your love.

I hear the wind blow furiously outside the window and glance out into the angry night. The wind forms drifts moving them from place to place as if undecided where they would look best.

I barely make out a form leaning against the light pole across the drive. The wind pummels your overcoat, your hat pulled over your eyes you seem to be searching, searching for something outside a visible circle of light. I hold my breath as she appears. Scarf flowing she walks directly into your waiting arms. Your lips meet and I see desperation as you try to warm her from the angry wind. I imagine love as you look into her eyes. You glance at your watch and with one last kiss she turns to leave. The wind erases her steps as though she were never there. As quickly as she arrived she disappears into the darkness once more.

I see you visibly slump your joy turns to sadness. I can almost feel sorry for you as you turn to make your way up the path I had never seen you leave. You enter and sit by the fire. We both feel pain , you for having to let her go and me for a glimpse at forbidden love.
