Dr. Wright decides to write in his journal while fighting a cold.

*Achoo!* *Achoo!* Oh, excuse me. Sorry about that!

This is Wayne, Wayne Wright, writing. (Still think that sounds rather funny. Dr. Wright writes. LOL) I am not doing too well, I'm afraid: seems that I have picked up a nasty head cold somewhere along the line; have been feeling achy, stuffed up in the head and nose, sore, scratchy throat, congestion in chest area, fatigued--you know, the typical cold symptoms.

Uch. Summer colds: they are the absolute worst. And for someone like me who has health problems anyway, I have to be especially careful, or else I could very easily end up in the hospital with pneumonia--or something much worse.

So far, Sarah or the kiddies haven't gotten my cold (hope they don't), but I am making them stay away as far away from me as possible. Of course, invariably, one of them will get it somehow; it usually happens.

I have tried to call Audrey; no answer. Hmm. Either she's at the hospital, or--that's right. She's in England now; no wonder I haven't reached her at her house. She's out of the country now!

D'OH! (*Wayne says, doing his best Homer Simpson impersonation*)

Boy, Wayne, sometimes, you don't have the good sense that God gave a goose! LOL (So SUE me; I'm not fully awake yet; just opened up my peepers not even fifteen minutes ago!)

I have been sick since last evening; got the worst case of chills I ever had in a long time; also started sneezing uncontrollably; I knew something was up, so I called my physician. He said it was probably a summer cold, lots of that going around already. He told me to stay in bed, get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids (as if I don't already do that in the first place!). It would probably run its course in a week; if I started coughing up blood, having difficulty in my breathing, having chest pains, et. al, then worry.

Watched the Tennessee Titans game--they lost. Darn! I also watched the Dallas game; a  high scoring affair, with Dallas coming up on the winnin' side. Heck..nothing to do but lie around like a slug while I try to deal with being sick (again!).

Didn't even make it to church yesterday; Pastor Bilkey called me yesterday evening, asking me why I didn't go to church; once he heard the sound of my voice, I think he figured it out.

He told me to feel better soon and that he would continue to have the church prayer team pray for me. I told him I was much obliged.

Sarah and the kiddies are doing wonderfully; it's just me who's fallin' apart at the seams!

Louisiana Sandusky e-mailed me yeserday; said it was a trying week; the state has been investigating her family at the insistance of a nosy neighbor, and it's taken a toll out of her. She seemed rather depressed. I will have to pray for her, have church pray for her...She has been layin' low since right now she's on medical leave; she won't be able to return to work until at least six weeks after her twin boys are born.

Heard from Jenna Aurora Doucet again; she is pregnant as well, carrying another boy. Another one who is pregnant is Heather Gagineaux, Genevieve Voisin's oldest granddaughter; she's due to pop any time; having a girl she is planning on naming Violet Michaela. Genevieve Voisin, who is retired now, is as proud as a peacock; she called me last week to let me know the news. She sounds good; I (and just about everybody else) miss seeing her.

Hmmm...seems that there are lots of babies to be born; must be something in the drinkin' water. So far, I haven't had any problems; but then I don't have to worry about it: I'm a guy. Guys can't get pregnant! LOL

Looks like I will be chained up to the ol' laptop, tryin' to answer all these e-mails. Now I am beginning to know what Louisiana feels like when she's chained to the computer, trying to answer her mail or meet deadlines regarding her writing, doing online forms, paying her bills, etc.

At least I will be out of Sarah's hair, out of the kids' hair. Give them peace of mind while I lie in bed, feelin' sorry for myself.

Well, I am going to lie down; just took some cold medicine, it won't be long before it starts kickin' me in the tail. I will write in here again soon; take care! *Achoo!* *Achoo!*

~Wayne. :(
