What the "L" word means to me. Dear Diary Entry.
Dearest Diary,
Last night, as he was peacefully sleeping. I stayed awake beneath the stars. A new home. a new life, built for memories. We barely started to unpack and already it feels like home. The foot steps seem cemented, clear of magically warmth. As he lays in bed I stay awake beneath the stars.
He came home earlier this glorious night, tired from work. But i had surprised him with a room of comfort. The bed completely made with all his clothes hung up. A small plant to add nature within his walls. Dinner freshly prepared waiting for him in the microwave. I covered his eyes when he entered the room, told him to wait before he opened them, and when he finally did he grew in shock of the beauty. No more cardboard boxes, or bags all over the floor, his room was finished.
He just stared at me and gave me a gentle kiss. Gave me the feeling of accomplishment.
We both got ready for bed... Pajama bottoms and plain shirts that seem to be made for comfort. The light was turned off and we were in a room of pitch black with no other than the small nightlights of the stars. He wrapped his arms around me and whispered in my ear "L". and didn't turn to stare at him. I embraced it with a simple reply, "I 'L' you too.
He is scared to tell me the truth. But with his eyes always locked on me with emotions, and the way he holds me in the night, I finally understand what "L" means. Love.
So as he peacefully dreams as I stay awake beneath the stars...I whisper in his ear once more....
"L".
"L U"
