Ronee' writes in her journal after completing her homework.
 Weds., Oct. 17, 2007, 6:13 p.m., D.S.T.~
Dear Journal~
This is Ronee'. Have just done my homework; I had homework in Spanish, Algebra, and Creative Writing. Glad that's outta' my hair; now I can write in here, my journal!
I am doing good: no problems since my last hospital stay, my last flare; trying to manage my pain as best as I possibly could; staying away from my allergy triggers, trying to get used to using my crutches again.
Heard from Rebekkah: she is busy with her therapies, trying to get used to her new limitations, still trying to be a friend to Susie, who is now awake, but is struggling with some serious problems herself. I don't know how Susie can stand all the bad memories; if I were her, I'd a' gone crazy long ago!!
Johnny is still doing about the same; still pretty weakened, has to use his oxygen all the time; seeing him hooked up to his tubing really bothers me because he isn't getting any better, and I am scared something bad will happen to him during the middle of the night. Needless to say, I haven't been sleeping good because I am so keyed up about Johnny.
Maman is busy trying to keep up with her e-mails, trying to work on a new book; she is writing a book about parenting a child with special needs; it's a "how-to" book with helpful tips for parents who are facing this challenge. She's still stuck in bed, so I don't see her much; I miss seeing her....
Poor daddy is keeping busy with trying to act as a multitasker; he has so much on his plate, and he is mentally/physically exhausted. I am getting worried about him....
The weather is warm here, but not too bad: the trees are just past their peak; the colors of the fall leaves were nothing short of spectacular. We may have storms later on tomorrow or the next day, including the threat of tornadoes; so you know my arthritis is going to rear its ugly head. NICE. Just what I did NOT want to hear: I am terrified of storms, especially if they turn severe!!
Well, I am going to go; going to go on MySpace, see if I have some new friends; just joined a few days ago, and I already have seven friends. Take care, I will write in here again!
C ya!
~Luv, your gal pal, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux. :D

It's great to hear from Ronee' today. With school comes commitments to her work, yet she still was able to write in the journal. What a considerate young lady she is for her family! I hope she does not suffer too much with the impending storms coming her way! Keep on writing!
Smiles,
Dorothy |

Karen, another great story! You really do these so well. You seem to be able to put yourself in the mind of these teenagers. Love your ability to do that.
