Bill's Journal (November 7, 2007)

Bill is trying to be the good father while his wife remains on total bedrest after her pregnancy scare. He is feeling frustrated about things.

I am feeling stressed out (so what else is new??).

I am trying to be a good father to my kids, trying to be caretaker, friend, and yes, even disciplinarian LOL while my wife remains on strict bedrest.

On Sunday, while at church, she had a scare: got severe stomach pains; we thought she was in labor; so off to the ER we went. Turned out to be nothing more than...gas. Severe gas. LOL

Must have been that Mexican food we ate the night before--NOT! LOL Besides, Mexican food's never bothered her before; she just snarfed it down like it was nothing--she'd even pop a whole jalapeno into her mouth like it was candy!-- and never had as much as a burp or twinge of pain!

Wouldn't even break a sweat! Watching her made ME sweat! LOL

So she's stuck in bed--again!--while I wrangle with the posse'. LOL

Thank God for the older kids still left at home is all I have to say: they have been wonderful troupers through all of this, and it makes us bust your buttons proud of all of them. It helps take the strain off their old man. LOL

I have had to do some major Internet work these past few days: kids were on MySpace, their accounts got hacked; had to delete their accounts, so now they don't have to worry about that anymore. I even bent down and got SpyWare, which I should have had when I first got the darned computer. I don't know why people have to prey upon others; what they are doing is a legitimate crime!!

Shame!

I will NOT allow them to go on MySpace; it is forbidden in this house. From now on, they can't even GET on the computer without us knowing about it first. If they do so, then they're grounded. It should have been like this from the get-go; I want to do all I can to protect my babies.

Louie's usin' that stupid bell to call her slave (me) LOL, so I gotta' go. Again. Seems that bell never stops!

Comin', Mother!!

~Bill.

This is gorgeous, Karen... so real, warm and HUMAN!!!!! I have missed your journals and life-paintings. I think I learn more about REAL life on one trip to your Den than perhaps many days spent in my home environment. And you make me always aware of how blessed I am and trouble-free. Just the mention of that internet hacker frightens me to death, though! Keep on tellin it like it is, in your own inimitable and courageous style that exudes humour and sheer grit. There is no one like you, and nobody does it better. Bless you and thank you. Kate xx

This story is very similar to a friend of mine who is disabled because of arthritis and her husband has to take on many roles in the household. A good story, Karen.

With the Holyday Season coming, maybe Bill will catch a break.
I will pray for one for him, we all should do the same.

Can't help but start quoting "The Bells" --that Poe'etic poem-- when I read that last part. I'm with Mr. Ed. Poor Bill! Is MySpace not working for you? --Charlie

Karen,

Bill's trying to be the good father, the caretaker, friend, and yes, even disciplinarian...and trying to keep his sanity and family's safety intact! I would have thrown in the towel years ago. LOL Bill's a much stronger/braver man than I'd ever be (and can't do that, 'cause I'm justagirl! LOL). An excellent journalling, filled with sprinkles of (much needed) humor. "Coming, Mother!" had me rolling! LOL Don't let Louie hear that or uh - OH!!!!!! Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
