Ronee' is home from school on holiday; she is taking it easy, enjoying the day. She's feeling better since her surgery of a few weeks ago.

1/21/08, 1:11 p.m., C.S.T., Nashville, Tn.~
Dear Journal~
Ronee' Le-Anne here. This is the first time I've been able to write since my last surgery on the eighth of this month. My hands are still hurting, but every day brings less pain. Just have to be careful, so this won't be too long.
Today is Martin Luther King Day. We are off from school. We had a long weekend. I am bored, so I decided to write in my journal, just to let you know I'm still alive! LOL
No therapy today, which is cool. Therapy's been helping a lot; however, there are days where I want to scream when the therapists tell me to stretch my fingers, move my hands. When they're flaring up, I don't want to move them!! That's the last thing I want to do!
Yet I know if I want to be able to use my hands/fingers, I have to move them, so there you go. It's a no-win situation. :P
I've been walking a little; still wobbly since not using my crutches/canes, so I'm using my walker. Then it's to the crutches, then finally my canes. Hopefully once I get on my canes again, I'll be off the crutches for good! :)
I'm feeling a lot better than I was; just my hands hurt, look like they've been in a war. LOL The bruising is fading, but I have the incisions; they are still healing, it's a one-day-at-a-time process.
Johnny is doing great since his surgery. He's breathing so much better with the trache tube; he just can't talk above a whisper yet. He's frustrated; he wants to talk in a normal voice; yet his mood's a lot better, so that's good. He's on his computer playing "Bookworm"; he's not doing too good. He's getting frustrated. LOL Poor guy!
Johnny hates getting suctioned; he says it hurts. Doesn't look like it would be fun; glad it's him and not meeee! (Mean, I know, but I can't help it! LOL)
I'm doing well in school; am glad to be back there. I missed all my friends during Christmas break.
Speaking of Christmas, I had a good one. I got an mp3 player (as did Johnny; it was our "big gift"; I've already loaded something like 800 songs on there, and even some videos and a movie); it's really cool! I got money, clothes, art supplies, new (Cajun) music for me to learn, some Cajun music CDs and videos, some books, and new shoes/boots. In addition, I got two brothers, Ian and Isaiah. They're sooooo cute I want to hug and kiss them all the time!! :)
That was probably the best gift of all, even though they did come early! (They were supposed to have been born around Christmas; they came early, like on Thanksgiving Day. Maman went into labor while we were having Thanksgiving lunch at the Golden Corral.)
Well, my hands are starting to ache again, so I'll go so I can rest them. Besides, I'm sleepy; it's a yucky, grey day out. Maybe later we'll go outside and play in the snow, get into a rockin' sock'em snowball fight. Yeah, that'll be fun! :) Take care and God bless!
~Luv, your gal-pal, Ronee' Le-Anne. :D
My birthday was good too. I'm now fiteen. WOW, I'm gettin' OLD!!!! LOL

Music seems to calm even the most fierce beast, illnes shouldn't be different, a happy soul would close that door to any pain.
Cheers for Ronee....and Johnny of course.

Well done my friend...funny how fads change...I had students in the first grade who talked about getting MP3 players, Ipods, and one a computer...times have changed, I think I was still excited about getting baby dolls even in the fifth grade, and Barbies all the way up to seventh grade. But anyway, I'm glad that the holidays went well for Ronee and Johnny, enjoyed this much my friend! Keep em coming!
Blessing,
Joyce B.
