Johnny writes about things going on in his world as well as the windy weather currently traversing across the country.
January 29, 2008 (Nashville, TN), almost four in the afternoon~
Dear Journal~
Johnny here. Did you get blown away by the winds??
It is awfully windy in parts of the nation--not to mention, co-o-o-o-o-ld!! BRRR!!!!
Yesterday we wre sittin' pretty at nearly sixty-eight degrees for the HIGH; a few hours later, the bottom fell out. Thundered/lightning'ed something fierce as severe storms traversed across the Nashville, Tennessee area, including some threats for tornadoes. None here, but boy, the winds were howling like banshees!!
I was lying in my bed, fast asleep, when the darned weather radio alarm nearly made me jump outta' my skin. Now I don't wear my hearing aids in bed, but when I can hear the weather radio alarm screeching, you KNOW that's loud!! I liked to have had a moo-cow!! YIKES!!
Mike and Porter, my two older brothers grabbed me, threw me into my chair, took me down to the basement, just in case Mr. Tornado decided to pay us a visit. Thank God he didn't; yet we were under storm watches/warnings for a good part of the night.
Only a few hours later, we were getting sleeted on as the temp plunged to near freezing. It's since gotten colder; the sleet's turned to snow--and it's STILL comin' down!!
I guess that means we won't have school tomorrow. Guess that means I will spend my time on the computer or reading or playing with my games. Oh, joy!!
For once, Ronee' slept through all the banging and bamming going on. Usually it wakes her up--that is if her arthritis doesn't do it for her. She had a ton of homework, plus she had a rough therapy day yesterday. She barely made it through school today; she's now in bed, snoring her buttinski off! LOL
Maybe we'll see her for supper, then again, maybe we won't. Goodie! I can snarf on her pizza tonight! Make a pig outta' myself! *HEE!*
I am doing good; have more of a voice now that my throat's just about healed. Still scratchy at times; try not to yell. Kind of hard to do with a trache tube in place! LOL I'm handling it pretty good; at least I can breathe much easier! (Now if I can only get through the suctioning; THAT's the worst!!)
Well, not much is new; pizza dude is here! Even in the snow they've gotta' get their pizza orders out!! Maybe he'll spend the night here; it's really treacherous out! Newsman's saying to stay off the street unless it's a dire emergency; anyone caught traveling that's not affiliated with emergency services runs the risk of getting arrested.
I guess that means that mom might go to jail if the police catch her as she comes home from work---NICE. My mother, the jailbird!!
Take care; it's PIZZA time!! YAHOOO!! Bye for now!
~Love, your pal, Johnn-o. :D *droolin' at the odor of pizza* LOL
