Johnny writes in his journal before getting ready for school.

Thurs., March 13, 2008, 5:04 a.m., D.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear Journal~

Johnny here.  Just woke up not even twenty minutes ago; thought I'd better write in here before I get ready for school.

I can't wait until Monday: we start our Easter break for a week; I can sleep in to 2:00 in the afternoon if I so choose without maman getting all mad!

This weekend is also our city's huge St. Patrick's Day Celebration/Festival; there'll be Celtic music, food, and even a parade.  This is our city's second festival; hopefully there'll be more in the future!

I'll be there! :) And I will be wearing green too!

I am doing good: no new concerns about my health, much to my relief. :)  Hope it lasts!

Speaking of health, my friend Rebekkah Cohen is doing better; she can't wear her prosthetic legs anymore (she has to wheel through life), but that's not stopping her.  Her attitude is still good, and I am happy for her.  She e-mailed me last week, still have to write to her.  Have been bogged down with homework, which is a drag.

The family is well, nobody's had the flu--well, Ronee' did a few weeks back (she passed out at school, missed a few days), but to our amazement, nobody else got the flu--just Ronee'.

There was a scare at school yesterday: a kid on the track team had to be rushed to the hospital: he got hit in the head with a shot put; he's now in a coma.  His name's Peter.  Peter Henderson.  I will have to pray that he makes it.

The ambulances and fire trucks came; we saw them; wondered what was going on. It was scary; at first, I thought we were being attacked or some shooter was on the loose, but it was only a kid on the track team.  It was rather exciting, but very, very frightening!!

We prayed for Peter Henderson last night at church.

Hopefully he'll pull through without any lasting effects!

Speaking of excitement, yesterday the White House in Washington DC was evacuated for a while; a plane had flown too close to it, and so the terror alert level has been risen to orange.  Nobody hurt, but it sure rattled nerves.  The guy who flew the plane was caught, was being questioned, by authorities.

Nice. NOT!!

Well, I am going to go; have to get dressed, eat my breakfast, take my pills, and then wait for the bus to take me to prison--er, I meant school!!

Will write in here again soon; take care and God bless!

~Love, your pal, Johnathon. :)

Johnny has had a mind-boggling lot of excitement in his life. He seems unaffected by it though except concern for his fellow-freinds. Well done, Karen.

Johnny, I thought also of school as a prison, but after a while I understood that it was my tool to get above tormentors and I-know-it-all, when I saw their envy looks I took back in spades their needling.

Great News, Johnny Boy, and I hope you enjoy getting up at two in the afternoon on Easter Break. You really sound like my brother, the Jersey Devil - who often sleeps until two in the afternoon, his breaks last all year!
