My daughter and I have been given the gift of friendship. I am grateful and praise God that He placed her in my care for her growing up years.
She had come for a visit during a period of personal transition.

Well time came again for you to go back to your home. I send you on with hugs, much love, and a profound belief in you. Blessings to you girlfriend. I miss you already.

Searching ones’ soul to see what is there takes courage. When sight is given, it takes courage to stay. (It is just as scary to see the potential) In staying, it takes courage to finish. The struggles are numerous. At times, it may seem like giving up is the only way to stop the pain and feeling exposed can cause a profound need to try to cover up again. Truth will set us free. Free to live unchained to our past.

All of the “growing periods” that I have gone through have tested my limits. I have a sense that I failed most of them on my own strength. Something greater than myself pushed me onward and kept me safe in the middle of the turmoil. When the work was finished and I can stand back to see what happened, I sometimes see that I have grown stronger in some way. The real me seems to have a clearer definition even if the insight comes only in the living of the day.

Is the pain and the confusion that you are experiencing today worth it? Yes. The hero becomes the hero, only after the bloody battle and many struggles. The hero is the true self.

So girlfriend, you go girl! I am here supporting you, encouraging you, cheering you onward, and offering my ears to hear you put into words the changes that are happening.

It is an honor to be your mother.

I love you."

Very open and honest look at yourself as a parent Jeanne. We all, as parents, do the best we can with what we have. It's beautiful to see the friendship between you and your daughter. I'm sure she appreciates the fact her mother always has her back. Good write. I enjoyed reading it.
