"Mamma I had the dream again, the one where I die, and God takes me by the hand?"
"Anna I don't like talking about the dream."
"Mamma Jesus is going to come back, he is going to take us all to Heaven or to Hell, I know you dont like me talking about Hell, but its real."
How could her five year old child be so wise, be so spiritual?
How could the Lord let her five year old child, suffer from a condition that ate at her muscles?
Anna's Mother used to say that Anna was a gift from God, an angel on loan, she said the same about all children, but when she spoke of Anna, she spoke with the pride only a Grandmother who shared the same faith as her granddaughter could.
Heather knew that in Heaven her granddaughter would be whole, that she would be free of the restraints on earth. She did not know how long Anna would be with them, but no one really knew how short life was, even in the best of circumsntances that was an uncertaintity.
All she knew was that from the start Anna seemed to be different from other children, she had a wisdom beyond her years, especailly when it came to spirtual matters.
She prayed Anna's Mother Jenna would start listening to her Mother, start accepting the ways of the Lord. Anna was wiser than her Mother when it came to matters of faith.
No wonder Jesus had said to become like a little child.
