According to the National Eye Institute, approx. 2,000,000 people are afflicted by ocular histoplasmosis syndrome. Many more are out there, but do not realize they have it.MySpace.com/terrence gaylor has a group of OHS patients, and people wanting to hear and learn more of this little known eye disease that is the #1 cause of blindness in people 20-40, ruining careers of people that are in the prime of their lives.

Ocular Histoplasmosis syndrome, OHS, is the # 1 cause of blindness of people age 20-40 in America today. Sad thing is many more than the 2,000,000 people that the National Eye Institute estimates, have the eye disease and do not even know it. Many are not aware of it. It is claimed to be a river valley , bird dropping origin, however, there are many river valley people and farmers who have lived in a river valley for most or all their lives, and disturbed the soil by tilling, discing, plowing etc, and they do not have OHS. Additionally I have met many people out of the known histo belt of the midwest, who have OHS, and they have never been out of NC. Little is known, and the origin of a river valley condition, makes many wonder why the river has anything to do with it in the 1st place? Bird droppings have also been mentioned as an origin, but why the bird droppings have an influence is yet to be described or married to the river valleys. There is much more needed accurate, not presumptive source information on IHS, as does more studies of origen as noted. This story is an inspirational book, with my the life story of a victum, how he was found to have OHS, how he lost his beloved career and hoe oHS changed his life forever.Tips on how to deal with OHS.Illustrations and more.
