Johnathon's Jottings: July 31, 2008.

Johnny writes in his journal; he is a little bummed out because the family doesn't get to take the promised trip to Ohio; he had been looking forward to it.

Thursday, July 31, 2008, 5:55 a.m., D.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear Journal~

Johnathon here.  Couldn't sleep, woke up early (body was painin' me again), so I decided to write in here.

Notice the color of the font.  Blue.  It matches my blue mood.  See, I am bummed out.  We were going to go to Ohio in a little over a week; however, due to the high gas prices and the ever rising cost of air fare, we had to cancel.  I was looking forward to going to Cedar Point, ride some of the (milder) rides, listen to the screams of the people on the roller coasters, wishing I were among them...*sigggggggh*

Now it looks like the only exciting thing I will get to do is go to Louisiana, listen to my bone-head sister sing, watch the paint peel off the walls, suffer the interminable heat that never ceases to end.  I don't like the heat:  it makes me itch, and all I end up getting is either a nasty case of sunburn or worse, sun poisoning, then I'm miserable as all heck.

Figures.  My sister still gets to go to Louisiana while MY plans get washed away like a hurricane striking the Gulf Coast.  Seems that Ronee' gets to do what SHE wants while I get sidetracked somehow; it never fails, and it drives me butt-crazy!!

Last night at church, some man had a seizure; kinda' livened up things a little bit.  He is going to be okay, but the paramedics were called, and they carted him off to the hospital.

I'm just glad I've never had a seizure at church.  I've had several at school or when I was at the store, which is bad enough, but I thank the Lord I've never seized while at church!

I pray this continues, especially now that my seizures are under control; been a while since I had my last seizure, months actually.

I call that a miracle! :)

Also, my body seems to be holdin' out.  No new signs of WEAK. ness to speak of; about the same in that department.  Breathing in check; no problems with the trache, except the suctioning; that's a royal pain in the butt!  And it HURTS, too, besides!  I HATE getting suctioned!!

The weather is hot:  typically summertime pattern; won't be letting up until later September at the earliest.  They're forecasting cooler temps, above average precip.

Been hangin' out at WeatherKids, a neat chat site for weather buffs like myself; have been having fun there.  Have made some cool friends; I could spend my time on that site for hours!!

Speaking of weather, just checked NOAA (National Oceanic Atmospheric Association), or the National Weather Service, to see what's brewing in the tropics; other than a suspicious low coming off the coast of Africa, the Gulf and Atlantic Oceans remain relatively quiet.  Thank goodness; nothing like a good ol' hurricane to shake up things a bit!

They're calling for an active season, but so far, other than Dolly lashing the very southern tip of Texas and Mexico with pounding rains and high winds, and a few other storms off the coast or out over water, the hurricane season's been off to a slow start.  I pray this continues; we don't need another repeat performance of Katrina's dance over the Gulf Coast region back in August of '05!

All this talk about weather has cheered me up.  I can get lost in weather for hours; it's one of my passions in life.  Hey!  I just thought of something:  maybe if I combine my love for singing/music with meteorology, I could become the world's first singing weatherman! :) *grins*

Whoops!  It's past six a.m. as I write this now.  If daddy sees I'm up with the birds, he may get a bit sore.  Maybe I can ask him to turn me; been a while.  Don't want to end up with another danged bedsore; don't want to go back to the hospital for that!  That would not be good!!  Well, I'm going to scoot, so I will write in here again soon.  Take care, one and all, and may God bless you!  Just continue to keep me in your prayers; pray my good health continues!  I can handle that! :)

~Love, your pal, Johnathon. :)

I pray for your good health to continue. Glad to do so. Sorry about the cancelled trip. You seem to have adjusted very well through it all though. Very descriptive write and enjoyed knowing someone else stays awake til 6 a.m. sometimes too. I have many a sleepless nights too. Am 63 years old though. I love the weather photoes you and Karla put on. They are amazing to me and great ones. You sure can put words to the pen and do write interesting writes. Sorry I did not read them sooner, I am enjoying my night at home from Bingo very thoroughly being entertained by you. Take care.

Ahhhhh....it sure was nice to notice the pick up of Johnathon by the middle of his jottings. It must be hard to stay positive, especially with the heat. Sounds like he certainly enjoys the weather. Love the picture. A great write!

What a bummer, Johnny Boy. My sister used to do me in, too. (She always got her way!)

Karen,

Isn't Johnny going to be performing, too? Don't whine about Ronee all the time and remember what you've got. :) Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Singing Weatherman. Maybe America DOES Have Talent! LOL Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Johnathon, don't be a cry baby, be a happy gentleman that Ronee got a good turn from Miss Fortune, and stop complaining about the hot weather...or you don't remember wailing how cold was last winter?
Cheer up, you can get lucky too.

Georg
