A poem about Dan, our youngest son.
Daniel’s Original Birthday Now, Dan’s 40th birthday was pretty original, But on an earlier one he pu11ed out the stops. I co11ected a whole bunch of Elevens that showed up on that day. I’11 bold them and color them blue. He used to ca11 me “Coach,” but later, “Pops.” His birth was scheduled, as C-sections are, But Dan had in mind an earlier time. That’s almost a rhyme. His mom ca11ed Dr. Stahl, Said “I’m not ready!” (Trying to sta11) He said “Get thee to the hospital,” St. David’s by name, (in so many words.) He was born on June 11 In 1967, His mother’s room was 311 , His birth name was Daniel Wa11 Coulbourn. His mother’s maiden name was Conne11. A whole bunch of his ancestors had Wa11 or Conne11 in their names. That’s how they came. Dixon Wa11 Coulbourn
