It is a love story which unfolds between the teacher and the outgoing advanced level pupil and it matured into a serious and permanent relationship. The story is thrilling.

Unstoppable love

There are many memorable days in my life. The day in question, seventh of December is unique. It stands out vividly in my mind.I had completed writing my G.C.S.E advanced level that day.I was in the "seventh cloud "with joy. I was happy, I was about to face the reality of the world. Its sweetness and its sourness was about to be real. I was eighteen and I  was weaned from being a toddler.I was looking forward to  independent life as  an adult.

The Idea that, I was now able to vote and buy beer without restrictions made me walk tall with confidence.Finishing the advanced level examination gave me a new lease of life.I was now a young adult ,with all my life ahead of me.I was raring to go and to take the challenges of life by the horns.

The day we finished exams, coincided with a farewell party organized by the school. The venue was a local posh hotel in the heart of Harare. The party was attended by teachers and all the advanced level students.

School authority relaxed the code of dressing. We were allowed to dress willy-nilly.Shool uniforms were not allowed for this occassion. As incumbent adults on the road to independent lives,we put thought into our dressing.Everyone dressed to impress.I did my survey well and ended borrowing the suit of my brother a government official.

He was of  my height and weight. The suit did the tricks. It fitted me nicely as if I was born wearing it. After a shower, I put it on and rang a taxi to take me to the venue of the party. It came without delay and it whisked me to the venue.I was dressed to kill to be honest. My elephant skin dressing was eye-catching.

"You are smart,James,"said my mate. "You are welcome," I replied confidently.Within a split second, my chemistry teacher in her twenties sat next to me.Gorgeous and intelligent ,aptly describes this goddess of beauty. She had graduated from the University of Zimbabwe with flying colours in chemistry.

She was teaching chemistry."You are smart,James," she whispered to me. "Thank you,you are also looking gorgeous in your outfit,"I responded with an enticing wink.I buried myself in my thoughts for a while." How was the examination?" asked the charming young teacher."It was manageable," I replied with a smile.

The head gave the keynote speech and it was time to dine and wine.I found comfort in drinking soft drinks, eating chocolates and snacks.I requested to dance with her.She obliged. We danced thrillingly and everyone clamoured for more.

One, two, three, four,I counted to myself trying to gain confidence.I looked at her and I smiled. She smiled back and the inevitable happened I declared my intention. She did not take me serious at first. She later gave in and a new page  was opened. We were in love.Kissing ignited. We swapped numbers and kept in touch till our marrige in 1992.I am honoured indeed to have fallen in love with the goddess of beauty my chemistry teacher.

It was unstoppable love, the teacher and the pupil tied the knot and forever shall remain one flesh.

Masimba,

Very romantic story. Although faculty and teacher relationships are usually frowned upon, true love transcends all society's rules. Excellent write.
