Yes, Christmas, as it should be, the one before the merchants kidnapped from Jesus birthday night into an orgy of presents, decoration and richly loaded tables with food and drinks.
It wasn't the Grinch that took Christmas, it was Nintendo, DVD's, Tiffany and all what TV and announcing could dish of temptations so we would forget or have not time for church.
Isn't Christmas a time to reflect and to help the poor and destitute?
Today we raise our glass full with Chateau Laffite 1938 and say Merry Christmas looking at a fake stable with terra-cotta figures.
It is refreshing that, like the author here, someone remembers what Christmas is all about.

Such a warm and wonderful story that brings back many memories of my own childhood Christmasses and my own family. Besides my folks there were nine kids and a whole lot of love.

LaBelle, this was a gift your parents gave to you, that far too many children of today will never have the luxury to experience... When I speak of some of these things, what I considered to be so great about the past...they just roll their eyes...and I have to smile and stop the story midstream...not worth it... such a loss.. Your memories are so lovely. What a blessing. lindalaw

Lost in the magic of your storytelling excellence, La Belle ... beautiful. Most of the time, the simplest Christmases are the best. Indeed.
